They have very few seats, better be early or late to avoid lunch crowd or takeaway. Chicken is super crispy and flavorful to eat with their sambal and belacan chilli; Chicken rice has the nice chicken fragrant and soft😋 No wait because we were there around 11.30am 😅

One man, one dish, and it’s worth it. Came across this ayam penyet spot run by the famously grumpy owner, Mr. Grumpy himself. No smiles, no small talk, just straight-up efficiency. He’s got a stone cold exterior, but honestly, I get the feeling there’s a kind soul under all that. There’s only one thing on the menu, so don’t overthink it, order first, sit down and enjoy. The chicken is freshly fried and flavorful, the rice is fragrant, and the soup that comes with it is surprisingly comforting. It’s in Orchard, so by that standard, the price is decent. A no-frills, quietly excellent meal that speaks louder than any smile could.

Love the crispy fried chicken with the chicken rice. Combo set comes with drink, 3 quail eggs and potato begidil for $10. The chicken and rice portions were reasonable so I think the price is fair. Service was fast and friendly. They were busy but queue was fast. I was there around 230pm. limited seatings so I was lucky.

Still the best fried chicken rice in town. Mr Grumpy is not around today when I visited. Opted for the $10 set with a drink. I came early and hence there wasn’t much of a queue

The food here is solid. Fresh crispy juicy chicken, tasty rice, spicy shiok sambal. I chose bergedil and liver as my sides and they were delicious and generous. Even the soup was good. As a set meal with a canned drink for $10, this is a steal in town. Only downside is the very limited seats but turnover was quite fast on a weekday at 2pm. I found the service staff to be friendly and efficient too. Glad I finally tried it, definitely 5 stars for me.
