Everest General Store operates as a multi-service shop at Lucky Plaza offering both general store merchandise and money changing services, catering particularly to the South Asian community that frequents Lucky Plaza for shopping, dining, and services. The general store component likely stocks South Asian grocery items, snacks, spices, and packaged foods popular among Nepali, Indian, and Bangladeshi customers, along with phone cards, remittance service information, and possibly DVDs, magazines, or other media from South Asian countries. The money changing service provides competitive exchange rates for various currencies, particularly important for foreign workers who regularly send money home or travelers needing to exchange currencies before international trips. This combination of services creates convenience for customers who can exchange money while purchasing groceries and other necessities in a single transaction, reducing the need to visit multiple specialized locations. The Everest branding suggests particular focus on the Nepali community, as Mount Everest serves as Nepal's most famous landmark and point of national pride. Money changing services at neighborhood shops like Everest often offer more favorable rates than banks while maintaining legitimate licensed operations, filling an important niche for communities that regularly handle international currency exchange. The shop's presence at Lucky Plaza reflects the shopping center's evolution as a multi-cultural hub serving various Asian communities beyond its original Chinese tourist focus.

Beware dishonest money changer who gives you obsolete currency from other countries. When I arrived in Sweden I was told the notes were obsolete and even they bank will not change them.

Beware of this dishonest money changer. Always count your notes and cross check with the receipt never assume or trust them completely. This is a very avoidable mistake. An apology after attempting to cheat doesn’t make up for it. This is the worst experience I've had avoid this place at all costs.
