Have been here a few times. Dishes are great, and I have to say the somm Jacky is amazing. Great services, very good stemwares, and very professional about wine. Dim sum buffet has excellent value.

Cozy place to have hotpot in Orchard Road. Staff is friendly and attentive. Ingredients are fresh as well.

Group of 5 friends gathering for weekday dinner. It’s Ala-Carte, all dishes at $3.80.
We ordered Chicken Soup & Italian Tomato Soup. The soup base was generous with the ingredients.
It is normal for the soup to taste bland/diluted without any dishes cooking inside. After we had cooked the meats, cabbage & misc food item, lo & behold the soup turns out really flavourful & not overly salty. Chilli station has all the selection of chilli sauces, sesame sauce etc. Comes with some fruits & individual servings of ice cream.
Unfortunately there was a tiny fly that dashed inside the hot soup. We managed to scoop out the poor fly. The outlet manager was kind to waive off the charges our drinks & soup. Service recovery was acceptable in my opinion.

First and foremost, kudos to the staff. They were really attentive and diligent when serving us, and are very quick to clear our plates when we are done with a dish. They also brought chilli and vinegar quickly when we requested. Very friendly and made the experience very nice.
On to food - we went for the dimsum buffet for $23.80++. Some of our favorites are the Siew Mai (very delicious and meaty, very nicely seasoned), Pork Floss Honey Butter Toast (quite a sinful and indulgent dish, but it was perfectly fried and tasted so good we devoured it), Steamed Pork Ribs with Bean Sauce (good amount of seasoning, though pork was a little tough), Rice Rolls with Prawns (very soft and silky Chee Cheong Fun), and Thai Styled Jellyfish. Fried dimsum were my absolute favorite too, especially the beancurd skin with prawns!
There are 2 particular dishes which would really benefit from an improvement though. The Xiao Long Bao wasn’t very nice - the meat taste was very strong still (which seems to be quite a common experience based on other reviews). The Iced Soursop tasted so bland that it tasted very close to water. Apart from these 2 dishes, the rest of the food were really delicious.

Empire hotpot is a decent location for hotpot with a good variety of choices. It is located conveniently on Orchard Road where you can find many malls and shopping centres, so this is a good place to go after shopping! The service at the restaurant is pretty good with friendly staff happy to help. For the food, there is a wide selection of broths, toppings, and sauces allowing you to really customise your experience based on your own liking. Overall, this is a decent hotpot restaurant, where you probably will be able to find something you enjoy!
