DARK WAVE by DEPRESSION stands as Singapore's premier destination for avant-garde fashion and darkwear, operating as a brutalist sanctuary built from steel, concrete, and conviction. Located at Orchard Gateway #04-14, this concept store houses the flagship DEPRESSION label alongside an exclusive curation of international darkwear brands.
The store represents a rupture beneath the surface of mainstream fashion, offering pieces that embody their "darkest truth" philosophy. From Depression Wide Leg Skorts to their signature socks collection, every item reflects the in-house label's commitment to unconventional aesthetics. The space itself functions as more than retail—it's a community hub for those drawn to darker, more experimental fashion expressions.
Open daily from 12pm to 9pm, DARK WAVE has cultivated a loyal following among fashion-forward individuals seeking alternatives to mass-market trends. The store's Instagram presence showcases their latest drops and exclusive pieces, while their physical location provides an immersive experience into the world of high-concept darkwear. For visitors to Orchard Road seeking something beyond conventional fashion, DARK WAVE offers a carefully selected range of apparel that pushes boundaries and challenges sartorial norms.

One of a kind in Singapore. They bring in avant-garde brands you won’t find anywhere else in the country, making every piece feel exclusive and special. The curation is bold, artistic, and always ahead of the curve. Every visit feels like discovering fashion as art. Kenny, Andrew and Chris are incredibly knowledgeable and offer top-tier service with a personal touch. A must-visit destination for anyone who loves fashion or simply appreciates the extraordinary.
Happy 19th birthday to Depression! 🖤

The first time I stepped in I was merely looking for a pair of sarouel-type trousers. 3-4 items later and I'm hooked on the avant-garde style of clothing.
Staff are super friendly and welcoming.
Atmosphere and mood of the store blends really well with the overall theme.
Definitely worth checking out if you're in town.

Dark Wave is my favourite go to for avant garde fashion brands in Singapore. Their curated pieces range from brands like Rick Owens, to The Viridi-anne, to Julius 7, and even unique jewelry labels like Parts of Four. They carry their own line of clothes too - Depression, which is one of the most unique and dark alternative labels you can get your hands on here. They’ve got seasonal releases and pieces that are more unique than some of the bigger foreign brands in my opinion.
Underneath all those dark layers, both Kenny and Andrew, the owners and designers of Depression, are actually really friendly in person. Together with Chris they make a truly great team that gives you enough space to browse in peace but also enough know how to pick the best pieces to make you look your darkest and best should you want some assistance.
If you’re in the area feel free to stop by and pay them a visit. Highly recommended for those into the darker side of fashion 😉

Dark Wave (or Sects Shop as it was previously known) is one of the very few places in Singapore catering to avant garde fashion brands like Archivio J.M Ribot, M.A+, D.Hygen, The Viridi-Anne. The multi-label boutique provides a healthy alternative to the hellishly depressing state of fashion stores in Singapore. Andrew, Kenny and Chris have curated a great selection and they're amazing folks to have a chat with, even if you know nothing about fashion.
Even if you're not there for the other brands, check out DEPRESSION - a local brand that's a little darker than what Singaporeans may be used to.

Moody aesthetics, attentive yet non-intrusive staff. Local designers offering really original and wearable ready-to-wear and accessories. A bit out of the way but if you know, you know. Highly recommended.
