Seems like this place has quite a bad rep for service- fair the uncle seems a little eccentric but nothing so far as to be unfriendly or nasty. Maybe more like brash and direct which I can look past. Food wise- I tried the double fish soup for 7.50. Soup was sweet and tasty and fish seems fresh as well. My only gripe was that the portion seems quite little for the price. I added bitter gourd for $1. Because it’s still rather tasty and fresh- I might come back here again when I’m craving for some fish soup!

Been coming here for years even though I'm not usually a fish soup person, but auntie's fish soup is the only one I'll eat! The fish is always fresh and succulent. The seafood tomyum is fantastic too. Uncle can be a bit loud, but that's just his way of being friendly. Highly recommended if you're looking for a quick and delicious fish soup fix in the area.

Food: 2/5 Definitely no-go for the fish noodle. Broth was just salty and not flavourful. Noodle was not cooked long enough and so was too firm and doesn’t soak up the broth well. Shockingly small pieces of fishes - 4 to be exact. Prawn paste wings were not bad. Service: 3/5 Couple of old folks running the place. Uncle’s very straightforward but meant well. Atmosphere: 4/5 All is well but not good enough for a 5/5. Somehow I’ve a feeling they charge a premium to cover for rental. I will not be back.

It's honestly quite nice for fish soup. Very tasty and flavorful soup. Fish is fresh but the slices are kinda thin. So it's honestly a but pricey. 10 fried wontons for 8 bucks is also hefty. Small shop so you'll be squeezed a little but the uncle is fast and quite friendly to me.

Dinner Ordered 2 mushroom fish soup 1 with milk another without milk $14 + 1 plate 4pcs chicken wings prawn paste $4 and 2 barley drinks $3.60 all for $21.60. Soup & noodle taste ok and a few thin pieces of fishs + mushrooms and cabbages. Average to me overall. Chicken wings nice hot and crispy. Barley drinks not too sweet ok too.

[UPDATED 25 Jan 2024] Won't want to come back here again unless they decide to relook into their pricing structure and quality of food. Fish was really thin and batam slices are quite Fishy and smelly. Portion size is ridiculously small and they started charging for rice and noodles on top of the prices stated on the menu. $8 for fish soup rice with this quality is disappointing. ------ Came here around 12 noon on a Monday and the boss ushered us in saying "if you don't come in soon, there is going to be a queue! 😄" and true enough, the queue came in at 12 and people were waiting to get a seat. The boss was super jovial and cheeky it made the entire environment more fun even though its a fast paced eating place. Portion size was good and average bowl of fish soup with noodles was $6.50. I love how the soup is sweet and savory from the fish and cabbage! The added touch of fried garlic bits and fried egg floss really elevated the flavours of the broth. The whole dish was so heartwarming I finished every drop! A side dish we tried was the Prawn Paste Chicken ($1/pc) and was surprisingly good! Flavourful and juicy mid-wings even though its a bit small. Would totally order again!

I find the place has a rather strange atmosphere. They definitely have their regulars whom they recognise and remember, so very friendly. With new customer I like me, it was a little strange. It wasn’t rude like some of the reviews here. The fish soup is authentic, meaning it does have the right flavour of Teochew fish soup but it doesn’t make it to my top list. If I want light and clear food, this will be an option if I am in Far East Plaza but not one I will recommend as something special.

This is one of the few fish soup stalls in Singapore that doesn't make me feel thirsty after drinking the soup. The broth was light and the fish slices were generally quite generous, given the premium location. The fish slices were definitely fresh and didn't have the plastic or rubbery texture. Their prawn-paste chicken is good too! The other reviews do mention the boss being rude due to hard-selling and his aggressive behavior. I guess that most are taken aback by his loud voice, as he is quite vocal. He will immediately ask for your orders after sitting down, and tries to promote some dishes in the menu rather loudly. All I can say is, do come prepared for what to order, as the seating is quite scarce during lunchtime, hence his fast paced attitude. It's alright to say no to the food items that he is promoting, don't be afraid! There's always a long queue during office lunch hours, so do come early too!
