I left a 5-star review two years ago, but it saddens me to observe the decline in the quality of teaching recently. My classes have been cancelled or rescheduled for the second time in a month. In the past, if another teacher couldn't make it, Ms. Xia Haiying would step in and teach the class herself. However, now the default solution seems to be cancellation. Apart from Mr. Ilya, the faculty teaching adult classes now provide minimal correction and often appear unprepared.

Great Place Great Team Great Work City Ballet Academy is situated right at SG busiest MRT station (Dhoby Ghaut). With the 3 lines interchange MRT station, it the only ballet academy in SG which provides the most convenient transport to reach! Beside this, Plaza Singapura is also right above it. So much much good chances for the parents to go shopping or having meals while their precious little ones are having dance lessons in City Ballet Academy!! City Ballet Academy has a GREAT team of dedicated & professional instructors! With their strict yet care coaching, they produce a team of awesome dancers with excellent results (RAD & jazz exams, dance competitions....) & the Great annually performance! The principal, Ms Xia is very focus in all students dance development. She is always ready there to give us advice & suggestions. Mrs Lee too!! My gal loves to work under both Ms Xia & Mrs Lee coaching.

Signed up for Intro to Ballet BEGINNER course but instructor seemed to be teaching intermediate or advanced level. Did not bother slowing down for new students or even care if we can catch up. Instructor is also a Chinese nationality who cannot speak fluent English and often have difficulties explaining concepts to non-English speaking students. School not understanding towards adult students' work situation. They used to have a White Sands branch that unfortunately had to close due to certain circumstances and my work schedule wasn't able to match the Dhoby Ghaut branch anymore. They were unwilling to provide a refund even though I explained my situation. Prior to that, they just ignored my application for a full month till my follow up email to them. Regretted my initial decision to sign up a 12classes package with them at $250 to get such service and frustrations.

The teacher I have is Ms Ma. She's very strict but she can be quite funny. She looks forbidding but seems to like working with people who keep trying and she will keep drilling away like a dentist lol....prepare to get lots of brain training while sweating buckets in her class. Classmates are also supportive 💖 Overall positive experience
