We have the pleasure of studying in this studio for more than 5 years and I can say with confidence that this is one of the best choreographic schools in Singapore! Everything in harmony is harmonious - a team of teachers, their qualifications, a training system and career growth! We also have a very friendly team of parents who are always ready to help if you need it! Our teachers are the best teachers, they not only understand their students - they also feel them, and therefore have very close contact with each of them. If you still do not know which dance school to choose for your child, I tell you to come to the CBA!

I don't even want to put a star. HORRIBLE experience. Teacher just sat there on the bench pointing fingers at me and most of the dancers. Very biased too . Hate that the teacher had to call my parents about me not understanding her 'Chinese accent requirements', and even wanted my parents to TEACH me instead of her. RIDICULOUS!!! So, if you are thinking of signing up tp this City Ballet Academy, I advise you to think twice.

My daughter has joined the Elite course in City Ballet Academy since 2019.
CBA is full of experienced and professional teachers who are able to teach students satisfactorily.
They offer a high standard of private coaching, and students are given opportunities to take part in masterclasses conducted by internationally active principal dancers.
The admin system is also very well established, and it is highly recommended for all students, especially for those who would like to pursue dancing.

My daughter joined City Ballet Academy in 2015, and has never looked back since. She learns the proper forms and techniques of ballet from highly qualified teachers of international reputable dance intensive programmes and professional teaching experience. Ms Xia and her team of teachers emphasize strongly proper technique, etiquette and strength development. They are dedicated and highly professional on the art of dance. Strict discipline is expected and the school expects students to put in their best during class lessons. I am happy the school nurtures my daughter and each student to their full potential.

City Ballet Academy provides strong foundation training in ballet. Both my daughters have benefited from the training tremendously gaining distinctions in RAD exams. The School teaches beyond RAD with classes to do barre work and basic steps and opportunities to take part in competitions. Admin staff is also very friendly and welcoming who had patiently answer all our questions prior to signing up for the ballet class.

Send my girl for audition last year and was told verbally that she was accepted but need to work out the schedule. Had sent multiple follow-ups but keep giving excuses such as the Teacher-in-charge is busy, on leave, school is busy with year end performance...etc. Already > half a year and still no response. Even if rejected, do have a proper communication rather than leaving the students waiting.

My girls ballet dance techniques have improved leaps and bounds since transferring them to CBA from another dance school.
Some dance schools only treat ballet as "just another dance genre" but in CBA, they really know the essence behind ballet.
CBA is definitely one of the top few ballet schools in Singapore if you want your child to specialise in ballet.

The principal Ms Xia and her teachers are excellent coaches. Their dedication and passion in grooming the students to appreciate the art of dance regardless of their potential is truly remarkable. They bring out the best of each student and it shows in their dance recital during the annual concert. The joy on the all the students’ faces and the sparkle in their smiles reflects that CBA has a strong culture of inclusiveness and respect. My daughter joined CBA late in 2018 after being in another dance school for 9 years. Initially I was concern if she will be able to assimilate. To my surprise, she settled in very well and the time she has spent at CBA are one of her happiest moments. As a result of the nurturing environment, my daughter has accelerated to become a confident and amazing dancer accomplishing results that she has always want to achieve. Thank you CBA!!!

My children initially started going to CBA for ballet classes to complement their gymnastics training. They have now put their focus in dance and have benefitted from CBA's thoughtful programme and opportunities (competitive as well as performances). Led by a wonderful principal, it is a very nurturing environment that puts students well-being in first place. Really glad to know they now also have jazz in addition to ballet and contemporary dance!
