It is extremely large, it occupies the entirety of Level 3 of Ngee Ann City. The use of wood and soft yellow light make it feel welcoming and comforting, and it is relatively peaceful. Transport-wise, I think it is easier to get here by MRT, as the Orchard MRT station is only a 2 to 3 min walk away from Ngee Ann City, and it is rather straightforward to find your way here. I really recommend this place for foreign language learners as there are three shelves dedicated to dictionaries and short stories in foreign languages. It is usually difficult to find foreign language books in Singapore, so I think Kinokuniya is a great place. Aside from regional languages Thai, Vietnamese, Malay, Japanese, there are widely spoken foreign languages, French, Spanish, German and Italian. The wide variety of languages doesn't stop there, they also stock Russian, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian and even rare languages - Latin, Sanskrit, Slovene, Fijian, Swahili and Tagalog. It's a very good place for anyone looking to obtain language-learning resources. Additionally, many books on linguistics are also available, which you might not find easily elsewhere. They also sell novels and storybooks from all genres, and in different languages, some in Chinese, English and French.

Great variety of books (from classic novels to manga). You can spend the entire afternoon walking through the store. It has a book for everyone- and some other treats!

Excellent book store wide variety of collection. Ambience is quite.
From toddlers to PhD students all available.
Soft toys, educational play items , cartoon books are good. This will nurture book reading habit.
I advise mild music will boost ambience and also a reading space for students to read and choose books. In many Indian cities they are providing choice purchase option like read and purchase.
Overall excellent place to spend time here. Feel like we are in temple

The biggest if not the best bookstore in SIngapore. Would visit this branch every time I'm in the city to check out their wide selection of books. This is a very BIG bookstore with lots of nooks and crannies you can immerse and loose yourself. I could easily spend an hour or 2 here. In fact I would drop by here every night as I wound up my day. A little quiet time as I explore the books I will be taking home. Weekdays are more relaxing compared to weekends but its more festive and lots of events during this time. Tried the self-checkout lane and I'm happy to discover the system is such a breeze and totally pain free to use.

I am a Kinokuniya member and come here often to browse and buy books. Service has been OK so far but today I witnessed and experienced something terrible.
Today 10 Dec 2025, at around 5.20pm, I was at the Europe section (D25-03) looking for books. There were 2 staff- a petite Chinese female and a tall large dark skinned hairy male with messy curly hair. They were opening boxes of books and moving them. I heard the male staff use profanity (F word) while shouting at his female colleague. He was also rude when moving the boxes and deliberately threw the box down hard, resulting in a loud bang which startled me.
Later on, they moved to the counter where section D25-03 is located. There was an older dark skinned female staff sitting there and the 3 of them were talking loudly. As I was nearby, I had the misfortune of overhearing their conversation. Again, the male staff kept using profanity (F this and F that) over and over again in his sentences. I also heard him making fun of the Chinese female staff in a derogatory condescending manner. The other older female staff (seated) heard everything but did nothing to stop him. Throughout the whole incident, the male staff had violent and aggressive body language. It made me very uncomfortable and also feel sorry for the female staff whom he directed profanity at.
Such behaviour is considered verbal abuse and bullying and should not be tolerated. I'm shocked and disappointed that a Kinokuniya staff would behave in such a vulgar and abusive manner. I saw the male staff wore a name tag but couldn't see his name. I did not feel safe to approach him due to his aggressive body language.
I hope this matter is thoroughly investigated and the appropriate action taken towards that male staff. No one (staff or customer) should be subject to such violent vulgar behaviour. If this is how he behaves in public at work, i cannot imagine how he behaves in private.
Kinokuniya should be a safe and respectful space for both staff and customers. I will be writing in to Kinokuniya Singapore to highlight this matter as well.

It was big and really beautiful!! They have a wide range of books available! The book we are looking for was available there and it was sold out everywhere! :) The location was also great because the mall was really quiet and nice.

Awesome bookstore for finding mangas and anything Japanese related fun stuffs.
Place is huge and does have good quality books and materials. Place is clean and staffs are friendly.
A tad pricey but good quality.

It's a reader's heaven! The fact that there were so many stacks of anime, or literature from other countries was impressive as it catered to a wider audience. Would've loved a sitting space somewhere centrally in the book shop as most ended up sitting on the floors. Staff was SUPER helpful every time I had a query so was the checkout crew. Heads up that most books were on the expensive side but you'll get plenty of variety and pop culture!
