Been trying this chain several times over the years and while the the flavours of the foods are commendable, the price point and portion size are terrible. Recently, ordered the Grilled Chicken set (ayam bakar), and was shocked at the small portion of the chicken legs! And mind you this costs 9.8 for a mere serving of chicken, a quarter of a tofu, a small slice of Tempe, and a slice of raw cabbage. The portion looks more like a child's portion. For a street food menu, the pricing is daylight robbery. You are better off getting ayam penyet from hawker center.

Crumpled Nomad
We walked into the restaurant at around 5.30pm and there wasn’t a lot of people in there. The first impression wasn’t really good as the guy over the counter was missing us standing there for a while. Anyway, ordered the chicken penyat and a tahu telur, which we had not eaten for some time. We upgraded our white rice to the yellow rice. We ordered the chendol for dessert.
Food was rather cold when it arrived onto our table. I was rather surprise as I had the impression that they cooked their dishes fresh upon orders. The yellow rice was lukewarm and clumpy. We could taste a tinge of fragrance though even when it’s not hot. Chicken wasn’t crispy as expected. The tahu telur was also lukewarm. The satay sauce was good though. Portion for the dishes were small as well.
We asked for the chendol to be serve by the server but was ignored and asked to speak to the cashier. The chendol was very underwhelming.
Overall quite a disappointment and the prices were not cheap as well.

Only problem they don't accept international credit cards. Better have cash with you.

Visited Ayam Penyet Ria at Lucky Plaza and it really lives up to the hype! 🍗 The ayam penyet is crispy yet juicy, paired with sambal that’s fiery but addictive. I couldn’t stop eating it with rice. Their Sop Buntut is comforting with a light but flavorful broth, and the Black Tiger Prawns are big, fresh, and packed with taste.
The dining area is cozy, halal certified, and service is friendly even when busy. Located conveniently in Orchard inside Lucky Plaza, this spot is perfect if you’re craving authentic Indonesian food in Singapore. Definitely recommend! 👌

Insanely good Ayam Bakar, suspected to be the best I'd ever have! Ayam Penyet was excellent too. I am lame with spicy food but even I finished all the chili. Avocado drink was sweeter than Ayam Penyet President's and smaller too, but delicious. I dare say this is the best restaurant in the whole building.

Tried the ayam penyet here and it did not disappoint! 🍗 The chicken was crispy on the outside yet tender inside, topped with that addictive crunchy batter bits. The sambal packed a real punch – spicy, fragrant, and definitely the star of the plate. The sides of tempeh, tofu, cucumber, and greens balanced the dish nicely. Portion was generous and everything tasted fresh. A satisfying and flavorful meal for anyone craving authentic ayam penyet! 🌶️✨
