DK’s retreat was grounding and enlightening. I ended my day of silence with a little more self awareness, self compassion, and purpose. I have participated before, and each time I have come away feeling rejuvenated, calm and more clear minded. I recommend this for anyone, and especially if they are building self awareness, feeling overwhelmed, or looking for a little “reset.”

"Silence is the best foundation for looking deeply."- Thich Nhat Hanh. 5th August, I am grateful to have experienced a one-day silent retreat, led by former monk
Dhammakamo (DK), founder of The Hermitage Zen. Silence is powerful. Thank you DK for inviting us on this silent journey. An experience that deeply transforms us from within. Reconnecting to the present moment, coming back to my breath and knowing that I have arrived to the present, arrived to living, in the here and now. This is luxury that I have forgotten that I have. There were external elements like outside sounds, pains or thoughts that popped up. In stillness, I watched these elements transform into focal points to bring me back to my breath, the present moment.
These are some contemplations and reflections from the retreat that touched me greatly. Highly recommend my family and friends to try it. An absolute great prelude to my future visit of the Plum Village by the late Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. DK, through you, I was connected to Thay's teachings. I feel calm, at ease, peace, joy and contented. Thank you.

Attended DK’s Spiritual Empowerment this year and I am entirely grateful for the timely session. DK had clarity in his teachings and transmissions. His wisdom from years of experience was seen as he embodied them and I am grateful for the clarity that came through him. The space and his energies immediately put you at ease as he guides us through the session. His disciples were helpful and professional throughout the session as well. I definitely felt and saw many energies throughout the transmissions and left feeling lighter and empowered. Will definitely attend another session. Looking forward to connecting with DK and his team more in the future :) 🙏🏾

Yesterday I attended the one day silent meditation retreat with DK. Sometime we just need to Pause to reflect and be grateful to people who have helped us in our life . An emotional day filled with gratitude. I would highly recommend everyone to take one day out of their busy schedule and do this silent meditation to discover the joy of mindfulness.

The setting, program and intimate delivery by DK (and a few friendly volunteers) made my first quiet day retreat memorable and affecting. I left feeling lighter and content, with a few more meditation techniques to add to my practice along with a copy of Daydreams of A Millennial Monk :) With gratitude, to the Abbot for sharing the space and to DK and all the participants for a collective experience of an enlightened day in Singapore.
