Food was really really good. First time really trying Shanghai food and it's really unique. Feels like home cooked food. Love the fried rice cake, jellyfish, and the fish soup 👍🏻 Service was not the best. Didn't feel a warm welcome and wasn't given attention at all times. Had to ask a few times to order food and wait very long for their response after a request was made. Maybe it's cuz we dined in the private room. They didn't introduce the dish also when they served.

Had a CNY meal there yesterday. Due to the festive period, we could only order from the 4 set meals available. Though the restaurant is called “Shanghai Cuisine”, none of the items on the set meal menu is technically Shanghainese (eg. there was Thai style jellyfish and Sichuan pepper sotong but no 烤麸 and 醉鸡) The seafood was not fresh at all, none of us could finish that small bowl of fish portioned to us. The abalone tasted even worse than the canned ones I got from outside. The 花胶 was cooked very badly, it was so slimy my mum called it mucus lol. Wouldn’t patronize ever again and wouldn’t recommend those who want some authentic Shanghainese food. There are a lot of great restaurants out there with much better food for $588/4 pax.

Ordered only 3 dishes… Stir-Fried Noodle with Scallion Oil (Wow-balanced in terms of Noodle texture and flavours), Vegetarian Goose (Great meatless bite!) and their Braised Pork Belly In The Claypot (Pork Belly were braised almost perfectly - Soft & Tender, but not flavourful enough.. maybe lack in time of seasoning due to many orders for this dish, sauce was savoury and tasty enough - Not too Salty). We would have ordered more dishes if not for their lukewarm reception and service. Had to wave for minutes and then finally call out loudly just to get our order taken, not to mention about service after that, even though they had amber service staffs (They had time to talk to each other and not bothered to attend to customers’ waving for their attention). They were fastest to notice us when we walked to the cashier… but no ‘Thank You’ or any words after payment. Hope they can improve their level of service so that other customers will not complain.

Food is good. Having lived in Shanghai for 8 years, the dishes and taste are quite authentic. Yellow croaker soup is great, fragrant and fresh fish and the soup is so tasty, I could keep drinking. The prices are quite high though. 30 sgd for scallion noodles is really too much. Also when you come here, do wear more clothing as the AC is extremely cold… don’t understand why it has to be so cold inside a restaurant..
