The service was really slow, and the queue was long long. For a place that should expect a crowd during early morning breakfast hours, they seemed totally unprepared. I had to wait at least 20 minutes just to get my takeaway order. And when I finally got my kaya toast, it was cold and hard — definitely not the quality I was expecting. Ya Kun really needs to improve their workflow and ensure food is served fresh, especially during peak hours.

Very small and tightly packed open branch located in the Food Court of Ion Orchard. I went just after 11:00 on a Saturday morning with a small line which got longer afterwards. I was on my own and luckily managed to grab a table. If you plan to dine in and are with others, try and grab a table first. Not a place to sit long and linger. Eat and go! Staff were pleasant but could be friendlier. I had heard that this popular chain was a good place to have kaya toast. As someone that loves kaya toast, I had to go. I went with value set meal A, kaya toast with butter set. The set meal includes two soft-boiled eggs and either a regular hot coffee/coffee-O/tea/tea-O. I went with the hot coffee-O black and no sugar. The set meal is very good value. If you order the set meal like I did, the staff will give you the eggs and drink straight away. You are given a number on your receipt and they will either call you or watch the monitor for your number to display when the rest of your order is ready. My toast took just under 5 minutes. I would have preferred to get everything at once. Some diners had already finished their eggs before the rest of their orders came! The eggs already have their shells removed which was a relief as a lot of places don't remove them. I had to say, it was good! Not too sweet or sickly, just right. I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of toast and I could only manage half of it. Very generous. I can see why it is a popular chain. Would recommend for sure.

Horrible experience! Stuffy and crammed like sardines, too much obstructions inside the dine-in area, can’t they get a hoarding bay to store these?! Customer’s are struggling just to navigate within that small tiny space, egress and ingress is a freaking nightmare! Uncle cleaning the dishes is also rude and shows no consideration for people being shoved in a tiny corner with all those obstructions. If there’s an option to give zero stars for atmosphere I would!

Been to so many Yakun in SG, and i’ve finally found the worst one - Ion B4 Yakun. Decided to try because the one at Tangs basement is closed for renovation. To my horror: - Ordering staff is clueless, impatient and rude. I had to remind her that my steam bread set is kaya peanut twice as she automatically marked as kaya butter. 🥱 - Bread is served fast but the bread tasted like cut out bread without steam! 😂 - Seatings are so close to each other basically you are shoulder to shoulder with strangers (seriously in a fnb setting??); I had coffee sprinkled to my bread from the next patron while he placed his cup down, not his fault but we’re just too close to each other!! 👯‍♂️ - The only Yakun that doesn’t provide a single piece of napkin. - Returned the tray and got yelled by the washing staff because the return counter is full and I helped to place it in the washing counter. Please yell at your incompetent supervisor and manager instead of the patrons. 🤭 - This branch feels like a tourist attraction with tourists flocked in front of the shop, confusing the queue, yet the staff did nothing. 🧏🏻‍♂️

I came here on a Saturday morning and the lineup was long but the good thing is that it goes by pretty quick. Had the regular Kaya toast meal and totally didn’t disappoint. Next time I go I will check out the steamed version!!!!

For the first time I am disappointed with Ya Kun steam bread. :( I ordered Steam bread (kaya only). First they serve me with wrong order (peanut), then they serve me a soggy steam bread with butter (wiped off) to make it serve as kaya only😅 it tasted salty when I ate my first bite. I understand the crowd is overwhelming, I (we) can wait. Please serve a proper bread…

We came at 8pm so no queue and could get a seat easily. Tuna sandwich was a delicious snack.

Yakun has always been my favorite for kopi and their toast. However, I recently noticed that the quality of the toast has dropped, as it was prepared by a different staff member. The toast was soggy and unpleasant to eat. As you can see, I only ate the sides, which were a bit crispier. This was a total letdown; I should have gone to Toastbox instead.

Must try while in Singapore, traditional breakfast with kaya toast and steamed eggs , and super yummy coffee with condensed milk.

Gave the kaya pandan muffin at Ya Kun a try. It was a little too sweet for my taste and I wished it had a stronger pandan and kaya aroma.
