🚨 Scam Warning – True Love Vietnamese Bride Matchmaking Agency (Mark Lin / Lin Yung-Tung) 🚨 I am the person who called the newspaper and exposed how I was scammed by this agency, run by Mark Lin (real name: Lin Yung-Tung). Over the years, I paid a total of $12,000 SGD, with my most recent payment of $5,500 in January 2025. Despite such a huge sum, I was never given a contract. Mark Lin’s standard excuse to all customers is that there is “no time limit to find a wife.” But this is just a calculated trick: No contract = no legal protection. Once two years pass from the time you join (for me, March 2021), your right to file with the Small Claims Tribunal expires. Even if you continue to pay him later, if anything goes wrong, he can simply deny responsibility, knowing legally you cannot claim your money back. What makes it worse is that after taking all my money, Mark Lin never filed any Register of Marriage application with any Vietnamese girl. Then he suddenly stopped my service altogether, leaving me helpless after everything I paid. To add insult to injury, instead of being accountable, he tried to smear me publicly by saying I have a mental disorder — a classic intimidation and deflection tactic. This is how he avoids scrutiny: not by proving his service is genuine, but by attacking the victim’s character. In addition, when I pursued my complaint and lodged a police report, he escalated matters by allegedly threatening me — claiming he had two knives, challenging me to a showdown, and demanding I drop my charges. This is the pattern: old fox tactics, legal loopholes, no contract, false promises, personal attacks, and intimidation. It’s all designed so that once your two years are up, you are powerless to get your money back. I am writing this review to warn others: do not fall into the same trap. Once you hand over your money, Mark Lin (Lin Yung-Tung) will control the terms, stop the service whenever he likes, and even try to tarnish your name or threaten you if you speak up.

Scam. Beware, you will be tempted with one pretty girl who isn't really interested in you to pay a deposit which Michael will not return. Update to owner's response: so all you can say is, if I ask for a refund for YOU not providing any service, it is just me being bitter and not you being a scammer? Further, I will answer you: yes you have survived for 20 years by scamming, all you need to do is scam one person every 3 months, at 8-12k each. That's 4 clients a year or 80 total. Beware all, the owner admits that if the marriage fails, it is your fault. If you were tricked by him, it is your fault. If you were misled about how the girl looks or whether she is married in Vietnam, it is your fault. If she had no intention of staying married to you and only wants to trick you into marrying her... it is your fault. It is NEVER his fault, this is not a matchmaker this is a scammer who refuses to refund even if he does no work AT ALL All the work, research, background check, is done by you because he doesn't verify anything the girl claims before coming and may even lie for her

The way the owner/the team replies was very much a personal attack at one of the critics below "jes" (as I read) and was very unprofessional. Thumbs down. That does nothing to solve the problem but sidetracked to defensiveness and unprofessionalism. Maths has nothing to do with the message the person was trying to convey. You should initiate a call/ meeting with the person/customer instead of showing in the Internet the questionable "vibes" of your agency. I was curious after watching a video regarding Vietnam matchmaking and saw the comments made. Just felt unjustified and appalled by such a moderator's reply in the name of "customer service".

Had a meeting with him, then I realised this man can be trusted, and walk away. He looks unprofessional and talks a lot bullshit, the main point from him is: you pay now, soon you will be married.
