It has been a long time since I set foot in Tangs Plaza. This time, I have a mission, a certain brand of kitchen appliance that I probably can't find in other places: Kitchen Aid.
After searching at heartland mall, and looking whether it has the brand shop in Singapore (it doesn't), I remember I used to be in awe of the kitchen product range in Tangs.
So there we were, battling the Orchard crowd on Sunday, something we would never do without mission, we found what we need in here.
Not only it has the brand, it has an impressive display of all colors available, together with the options. The biggest plus point was the salesperson, a friendly and knowledgeable auntie, who also kindly offered me a cup of coffee from their machine tasting. Coffee was good, service was good, the shopping was convenient because we were able to consider all options. Free delivery across Singapore was also given and cashback.
All in all, it was worth it to shop there. Hopefully the delivery will be smooth.

It was wonderful to see this iconic Singapore department store holding its head up high along Orchard Road - defying the changing shopping habits that has seen other department stores in Singapore and indeed worldwide struggling to draw in customers. It was great to see today its continuing popularity with local and foreign shoppers alike - especially on level 3 thereat. It was bustling and at times, crowded. Keep it up!

Tangs Department Store @ Tang Plaza is easily recognized by the iconic pagoda-style Marriott hotel building above it.
The department store has undergone periodic upgrades to stay modern and relevant..
There are always special promotions happening, making it a good place to shop for clothing and other necessities.
During festive seasons, the mall is beautifully decorated, adding a touch of class and atmosphere that makes visiting even more enjoyable.

I love to shop here at Tangs. The building itself is unique. The department store has got a wide range of things such as apparels, house hold products and food. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Back in 1932, a young immigrant named Tang Choon Keng arrived in Singapore with little more than determination and a vision. Starting as a humble hawker, he gradually worked his way into retail, opening his first shop along River Valley Road. But it was in 1958 that he made the bold move that would change Singapore’s shopping landscape forever—purchasing land on Orchard Road, then an unfashionable stretch facing a cemetery. Many thought it was a mistake, but Tang’s gamble would lay the foundation for what is now one of the world’s most famous shopping streets.
From that bold decision rose the iconic TANGS at Tang Plaza. Completed in 1982, the flagship building wasn’t just another department store—it was a statement. Its distinctive roof and red-green color scheme, inspired by the Beijing Imperial Palace, made it an instant landmark. Over time, the plaza grew into a bustling complex that also houses the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, firmly anchoring TANGS as part of Orchard Road’s identity.
But TANGS didn’t stop there. Expanding beyond Orchard Road, it opened a second major location at VivoCity, one of Singapore’s largest malls. As an anchor tenant, TANGS at VivoCity became a go-to shopping spot in the HarbourFront area, drawing both locals and tourists. After extensive renovations, it reopened in June 2023, refreshed and ready to welcome a new generation of shoppers.
Today, walking into TANGS feels like stepping into a world where tradition meets modernity. Fashion, beauty, homeware, electronics, toys—you’ll find them all under one roof. It’s more than just shopping; it’s part of Singapore’s retail heritage, a story that began with one man’s dream and continues to evolve with the city itself.
Best of all, is it's staff. We want to express our profound appreciation and to extend a heartfelt commendation for three of your exceptional staff members who provided service that was truly above and beyond.
Our deepest gratitude goes to Miss Jackylou Augustin, Assistant Retail Supervisor. Her assistance was nothing short of extraordinary. Miss Augustin demonstrated an unparalleled level of patience, dedication, and meticulous care while helping us apply for a membership. She is the very definition of service excellence. We were deeply impressed by her unwavering commitment, boundless energy, and incredibly gracious attitude, as she went out of her way—even running up and down the stairs multiple times—to ensure every detail was perfect. Her actions were a testament to her remarkable professionalism, genuine kindness, and tireless work ethic. She is an absolute asset to your team.
We would also like to sincerely thank Mr. Aaron Hermosora for his invaluable role. His keen perceptiveness and immediate willingness to help were the first steps in resolving our inquiry. He seamlessly connected us with the perfect person for the job, demonstrating excellent teamwork and a proactive, customer-centric approach.
Finally, we must compliment Ms. Kanimoly, Customer Service Officer on Level 4, for her excellent support. She played a pivotal role in efficiently resolving our concern with great competence and effectiveness. Her ability to "make things happen" seamlessly capped off our experience wonderfully.

Had the best shopping experience with this mall. We just dropped by to check the latest collection of scent.
But then, we met Dandrio and he showed us the best-selling collection of perfumes.
Zainon, the Bvlgari sales assistant, assisted me very well. She exerted extra time and effort to explain all the scent in detail.
We really had a great time with Dandrio and Zainon. Highly recommended!

This Master i2 is the best massage chair among all the brands I’ve tried. Smooth rollers, ankle stretching & the full body stretch is just perfect!
