Came to Wisma Atria as I saw the exchange rates were one of the higher sides at the moment. The exchange process was confusing and lacked transparency. The board displayed ¥114.0/SGD$1, but the staff initially showed me a calculator reflecting ¥114.7. After I handed over SGD$500, he then stated the rate was ¥114.6. Ultimately, he said he would use the board rate of ¥114.0, citing a lack of small change to return. I ended up not exchanging as other money exchange rates slightly further away had better rates anyway. The multiple rate changes created unnecessary uncertainty. For clarity and fairness, the rates should be consistent and clearly communicated. I would advise customers to confirm the exact rate being applied before proceeding with any transaction.
