Asked for chilli pickle because suddenly this time there was no chilli pickle in the noodle when i ordered my go-to noodle. When i asked for it the young chinese lady poured a souce in and it was super thick spicy and oily. The taste is so strong that I have to scoop the oil out before eating it. I was wondering it she is doing this on a purpose when I just ask why the chilli pickle is not in the soup when it suppose to be. I asked for small bowl that’s the amount of oil she put in. Also i asked for sliced beef and the picture is sliced beef but i got the cube beef. In the past the cashier lady can take down my order properly and it was decent experience. Very upsey and disappointed, I will not go back again

Tried a new noodle house recently and was pleasantly surprised. The noodles were perfectly springy with a great bite, and the broth was rich, savoury and full of depth. The beef came in generous portions, tender and flavourful, but the real star for me was the noodles. Extra points for not adding coriander by default and checking if you want it! More noodle houses need to do that.

One kind of authentic mainland china to must try in Somerset, rich broth and condiments, beef , beef tendon, big slice of honey comb beef tripe, and beef ribs, and you can pay for more top ups, Three choice of noodle thickness to choose from. Will try their lamb soup noodle next time.

First time trying this shop out. Located at lowest basement level of 313@Somerset. Choose your proteins between beef, lamb or lamb offals first then decide on the soup. I had sauerkraut beef while hubby tried the lamb offals. The soup has both the breath and depth in terms of flavour and after taste. The lamb offals was a tad too gamey for my liking though hubby loves it but certain offals was also a little overwhelming. Overall, it’s a 5/5 for my beef noodle soup and 4.5/5 for his lamb offals. The staff cleared the table expeditiously and spray over with disinfectant, which is a plus point in terms of service and hygiene. There’s also a FOC side dish, which is like a Chinese version of kimchi. We will be back again for sure.

Got complimentary condiment bar where you can help yourself to pickles. 清炖牛肉粉 Stewed Beef Rice Noodle (S$13.80) Selected thick rice noodle for this noodle which reminded one of udon but in a very soft and silky way. The broth was light but flavourful. Served with 熟牛肉片 cooked beef slices, 牛肚片 beef tripe, and 清炖牛肉 stewed beef. The meat was very tender without gamey taste. I usually avoid beef tripe as it tended to be quite chewy but here it was very tender.

Had stewed lamb ribs rice noodle for an early lunch. The broth is rich, flavourful and a bit spicy. Lamb ribs are tender and not too gamey.

Came back and found the food is so much better than last visit. The lamb is now cooked perfectly and goes very well with the preserved veggies. Decent noodle bar that’s mostly self serviced. Tried the original clear broth, spicy beef, and spicy lamb and they are ranked in that order. The original broth is fairly tasty. However, once the spicy oil is added the flavour is not noticeable no more. They give generous amount of beef and tripe which is great. The lamb was a bit too gamy for me. Their headline firewood chilli powder is worth trying. It’s got a bit of smoky flavour to it.

Authentic tasting beef or mutton noodles. Note that the soup is cooked with both beef and mutton. Wished the soup was more spicy. The lamb skewers were delicious although a little pricey. Can be quite crowded during lunchtime. If more ingredients like egg, wanton, vegetables, are added, the bill adds up quickly

The beef noodles with pickled vegetables were delicious. The braised beef was done well and tender. Pickled vegetables match the beef noodles perfectly. The brown sugar rice cake was chewy and not overly sweet which was what i am looking for. Plum drink was not overly sour managed to quench my thirst.
