Queued almost 5 mins only to be told the sale item has to be of same flavours. Told cashier that the sign didn't say that. She said someone must have taken the sign off. Showed her this photo and told her if it's same flavour promotion, she'd better take it off. Left without buying because i only wanted 2 to try both flavours and no customer have the time to wait for her to call her manager to confirm the price of an impulse buy.
Management have better improve their communication and sales within the team. Especially for products that are expiring within 2 weeks, shouldn't it be common sense that it should be a mix and match promotion to get the attention of stray buyers?

Didn’t know there was a new Korean mart at Gateway! Surprised to discover a wide variety of Korean products at the shop - many of which (almost all) other marts do not carry. Love the strawberry milk! Will feedback on the roll cake & cheese soon~ I can see myself coming back to pick up more items

Fantastic Korean supermarket in Orchard Gateway— They have a wide variety of products and the prices are reasonable, some items much cheaper than other places. Definitely recommend checking them out.

Our first visit to the store. The cashier was very friendly and patiently answering my many questions. I bought a package of dry plain sea weeds. He reminded me many times that just use a small portion at a time as the whole bag is about 30 servings. Will come back to get the frozen rice.

The mart is quite well stocked, but my experience at the mart ruined my day. I was accused of shoplifting.
When I paid at the cashier, the middle aged lady cashier at the counter asked coldly if I had only two items to pay. I thought that was an odd question but I answered her anyway.
She then said she thought I had more items in my personal bag. I then realised she was accusing me of shoplifting.
I’m honesty shocked at this level of service. To be unfriendly is one thing, to be accusatory without reason of evidence, perhaps other than the fact that I was holding a reusable grocery bag (I had bought coffee from a cafe) is on another level. She could minimally politely asked if she wanted. But even that, I’m by legally entitled not to oblige.
Management, if you read this, please educate your staff. I was there on 23/6/2023 around 6:18pm.

The selection may seem small, but there are many quality detergents and additive-free foods. The meat in particular is really cheap and tasty. I am Japanese and I would recommend the meat here over Donki. The staff are friendly.

Most insincere korean supermarket ever. I used to love going there, but they have really terrible shopping bags that always break and I always have things falling to the floor. Last week I had a whole bag full of glass items smash to the floor when their bag just split open in the middle; told them about it and they promised refunds and said that they will get back to me in a few days - of course that did not happen. I would have been OK if they just apologised but if u promised refunds and then simply disappeared afterwards thats very rude, dishonest and terribly insincere. Definitely not korean level service.

Bought some 50% off random instant korean soup pack (those that are about to expire lol) from the shop and highly recommend people to target these items because where else can you get it at this price. Anyways, cashier (some Korean auntie) was very polite. I realised though that the previous time I went there, the cashiers were some youngster part-timer and weren't that great.

I came here after a very unpleasant and rude experience at Koryo Mart in the same mall (313 Somerset). Coming to Chorok Market instead really lifted my spirits - it's really well stocked, priced fairly, and the cashier was very friendly and kind. I found everything I wanted and more, and managed to buy a few things I haven't seen before that I'm excited to try.
In comparison, at Koryo Mart (the other Korean store in 313), it was understocked and the cashier was incredibly rude, essentially chased me away because i asked a question)

A small store that sells a variety of Korean food products. Despite the small store presence, it has the largest variety of Korean food I’ve seen so far in Singapore. Vegetables are air flown from Korea and they even sell the Korean chocolate as seen on the Netflix drama Hospital Playlist and maxim coffee sachet as well. Staff are Koreans and they are very friendly.
