Great service from the staff Food was good although minus 1 star cause the price is pretty steep but factoring location and taste 4 is a good spot The cheese was super disappointing tho, get everything else but that. Would’ve been better if it was layered cheese and not just some nacho cheese sauce thingy at the centre Rice is nice too Also a little oily

Ordered Chicken set meal but I’m the only one served rice in bowl whereas few other customers were served rice in bamboo bucket rice container No standard, disappointing Size of chicken was also smaller, no spoon or mayo provided, seating was limited.

Had a great dining experience at Kimukatsu. The staff were friendly and attentive, with excellent service throughout our meal. The food was great — we had the Katsu Curry and Salmon Katsu. The katsu was thick, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Definitely a place I’d visit again.

We ordered the original tonkatsu pork. The boar taint/unpleasant smell of pork is just too much to take in. The more I have it the more it stands out. Whereas for the yuzu flavor, the boar taint was slightly masked, but you can still feel it. I wouldn’t recommend taking pork, perhaps one should go for chicken or fish.

Gave this place a try on Good Friday with my friends. Ordered 2 pax of the original tonkatsu (there’s a discount on this meal now costing $14.90 each). The rice came in a big Japanese rice container for us. Scoop the rice into the bowl provided. The rice portion was filling for us. The tonkatsu was tasty. There’s also 1 sweet and 1 salty sauce provided to dip the meat into. Miso soup was also nice, I finished the whole bowl of it 😂 Enjoyed the meal with good company overall.

Had a great dinner after shopping. We tried pork katsu set, both original and black pepper. I personally like the original, the black pepper is very suitable for pepper lovers. Meat is tender and portion is just nice (not too much). Sauce also good, but i feel like better giving a salt for dipping is better than soy sauce. Free flow cabbage. I could easily eat at least 2 servings of cabbage at one go.

Would rate this more like 3.5 star. Ordered their katsu and oyster set meal, which came along with the Japanese cabbage in sesame sauce dressing, miso soup, pickles and Japanese rice. I liked that they had served the rice in a bucket for sharing between 2 people. I preferred the oysters over the katsu, as the katsu was a bit dry for my liking. Price wise was about $26. You could get refill for salad, rice and miso soup.

Shout out to Leon, who served us wonderfully during our visit. We (4pax) got the $66 5 katsu platter, which we felt provides great value for money. The mille katsu had unique texture - as compared to standard tonkatsu joints - and the special flavours were innovative. In particular, we enjoyed the yuzu, black pepper and ume shiso flavours. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back :) P.S. I also like how the rice was served in a traditional Japanese rice tub, instead of an ordinary rice bowl.

Delicious tonkatsu with a crisp coating & juicy layers. The standout was the rice — soft, slightly sticky & pleasantly chewy, served in a wooden tub. Fresh cabbage, quick service & great value for a casual Japanese meal at Takashimaya’s basement food hall.
