My husband booked Kakushin for our wedding anniversary dinner, and it was a wonderful experience.
We had the 10-course omakase. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and delicious. Maggie and her team were attentive throughout the evening and made our celebration truly special. Highly recommended.

I read many great reviews about Kakushin, so I decided to make my first reservation there to celebrate my best friend’s belated birthday. It was my first visit, and I was really impressed — the food, sake, and service were all amazing!
The waitress gave thoughtful recommendations by asking a few simple questions about our preferences, which helped us choose the right dishes. The A5 wagyu beef literally melted in my mouth. The staff also made regular checks to ensure our table was always clean and clear, which showed their attention to detail.
To our surprise, the restaurant prepared a whole cream cake and even sang a birthday song for my best friend! They also offered ice cream or fruit afterwards, which was such a lovely touch.
We were both delighted with the experience, and we’ll definitely be back again soon!

Had the omakase and it was exquisitely crafted. Chefs served the dishes and explained each dish in detail.
Ingredients fresh as expected, presented with creativity, and always at the right temperature.
Hosts friendly and non-intrusive; will readily answer relevant questions.
Restaurant has a good mix of people - some going for omakase, some going for a la carte.
Interior is beautifully furnished and ambience is peaceful.

Absolutely delightful sushi experience! Every piece was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The seared salmon and scallop with uni were definite highlights — rich, melt-in-your-mouth, and full of umami.
You can really taste the quality of the fish and the care in preparation. The tamago, pickled radish, and ginger on the side were nice touches that complemented the sushi perfectly. Even the soy sauce dish was thoughtfully chosen — small details that show how much they care.
Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates traditional sushi done right. I’ll definitely be back to try more seasonal selections!

My husband brought me here for my birthday celebration. Dinner on a Tuesday.
We ordered the Hida Beef 7 course meal and it brought back good memories of days we were at Takayama where we had Hida Beef for the 1st time. Thank you chef and team for the curation and effort to get Hida beef into Singapore; for our dinning pleasure.
The chef and the waitress have an thoughtful and approachable demeanor about them. When dining at the restaurant, it feels like u are in a homestay in Japan with meals prepared by the family.
Thank you for the warmth and good beef!
And the cake, paired with fruit, was one of the more unique bday cakes I've had. Not sure what was it, chestnut cake perhaps? Salty and sweetness were well balanced, a sublime conclusion to a delicious evening.

An absolutely unforgettable omakase experience.
Every course was thoughtful, precise, and perfectly balanced. you could tell nothing was rushed and nothing was there by accident. The chef explained each piece with quiet confidence, and the progression of flavors just made sense from start to finish.
The fish was pristine, the rice temperature and seasoning were spot on, and the pacing kept you engaged without ever feeling heavy. It felt intimate, intentional, and deeply respectful of the ingredients.

Great service from Maggie, who went out of her way to give us a good experience. Disappointed with the quality of the food - ingredients didn't taste fresh, sashimi was over-sauced and beef was overcooked. At that price point ($76 for a small wagyu beef bowl) I would expect the beef not to be overcooked. Unfortunately other than Maggie, there was nothing worth returning for.

Atmosphere: very quiet as we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.
Service: superb. the staff were friendly and warm. came to chit chat with us a bit. very attentive and keep refilling our green tea.
Food: we ordered tempura udon, sushi, sashimi and big mac. big mac was a huge hit. The uni portion was generous. tempura and sushi set were not bad. Sashimi was very fresh but very overpriced imo ($78 for 9 pieces).
