The food was good — just a tad bit on the salty side. However, the service could definitely be improved. The aunty serving me was quite rude, and throughout my time at the restaurant, both the service and kitchen staff (especially the aunty) were talking and ranting loudly. I could hear all their personal discussions and drama, which made the dining experience a bit uncomfortable. 😅

We were excited to see the Maki with white sauce from the predecessor on the menu so we jumped right in for lunch. Even with Teppei-san manning the sushi counter today, the experience was so bad that I’m surprised it’s affiliated with the Teppei name. We ordered Edamame, Kai Kai Unami Maki, Yakiudon, salmon skin and Garlic fried rice for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly with the service team being very quick to refill our green tea. The edamame came quickly - boiled and unsalted. The yakiudon caught us by surprised as it was similar to the Chinese guotiao. When I asked the server, she explained that is a special flat udon they make. Sadly it was so bland and oily that we didn’t finish it. Similarly the fried salmon skin somehow managed to be drenched in oil still but feels more like drinking oil than enjoying the taste of the skin with its mentaiko dressing. The maki was probably the saving grace but it just lacked the umami factor of the Koh sushi days. The garlic fried rice with beef was the biggest shock. For $20 you get 5 pieces of cheap looking beef slices that were slightly marinated and the garlic fried rice managed to be drenched in oil too with the garlic taste only found in fried garlic chips. It ranked as the worst garlic fried rice I even had in singapore. All in it can only be summarised as a really bad meal. Service staff and the maki were the saving grace but the kitchen has to thoroughly review what are they getting wrong to make such bad meals to really get the crowds back.

Ordered something similar to the previous sushi roll, tasted not bad actually! The hotate sashimi was not bad either. Also ordered the kai kai castle and a cold soba. Overall it costed us $80+ only. Quite reasonable actually!

I entered the restaurant around 8:30pm, and I was informed that the kitchen closes at 9pm. After my food was served at 9pm, I was called to the cashier within 2 minutes to pay the bill while my meal was still hot and waiting on the table. I’m not sure this is the right approach, especially since the restaurant is listed as closing at 9:30pm and it was only 9pm at that time. It felt a bit rude and didn’t allow me to enjoy the meal properly before being asked to settle the bill. The auntie I believe just want to close the restaurant on time Could you please clarify if this is the standard policy? Thank you,

It was the worst dining experience. Food was average. However, when I took my salad I was shocked to see rotten vegetable. The staff agreed to waive off that particular dish. While I was STILL drinking soup from my friend’s order, another staff rudely and abruptly took away the bowl while I was still drinking from it. When asked him what happened, he said: IT’S FREE, YOU NEVER PAY, SO CANNOT EAT!! OMG!!!! What an extremely rude staff. I would rate it negative stars if it was possible. Warning, eat at your own risk. The food may not be fresh. I later read a review where someone suffered diarrhea after eating there. I should have checked the reviews before going. Never again😡😡😡

Was a lil skeptical going in as i read the reviews about unfriendly staff but omg! The staff were amazing and attentive!!! They were super nice and the food came really quick. They kept refilling my drink without asking and the vibes was so friendly. The castle salmon set was super worth $19.90

I think this place deserves higher ratings! I am a Koh Grill fan myself, while this place isn’t the same, it’s good in its own right. They have a wide menu - we ordered the kai kai hanabi maki and dare I say it was “shiok”. Only criticism is that the sauce is too salty. Also got the dragon roll, which is on par with other Japanese restaurants Service was also super fast. I would come back here again

Been awhile since I visited this place. Tried the shiok maki and the garlic fried rice. Quite disappointed with the garlic fried rice even though in the menu it says chef recommendation. Definitely pre made and clumpy. Don’t recommend it. Even I cook better fried rice..

Good fresh quality and portion at affordable price point. Great service and the food came out quickly. The service staff refilled my cup numerous times so quickly without any prompting. Their sushi rolls and dons are really good. My second time back here and brought my husband. He loved it

It was a bad experience @ this restaurant. Wanted a quick fix for some sashimi & sake & decided to give this place a try, because its under the Teppei Group. Wait staff was prompt and I chose my fav, counter seat. The Japanese chef, big size with specs was unfriendly, I asked what is today's catch, (like i always do at Japanese restaurant), he nonchalantly mumbled something under his breath & walked away.. I was speechless.. All the chefs at Jap restaurant will always be soo enthusiastic to sell what they have but this only chef, Japanese, was not! & I noticed all the kitchen staffs do not wear their masks properly, either half covered or masks totally tugged under the chin. Worse, found a bone in my piece of Hamachi sashimi.. disappointing.. . The atmosphere is a replica of the old restaurant, which reminded me of the good, familiar place, definitely no more the "hellllllo-my-friends" feel.. Too bad, never going back..
