Visited Hvala Singapore at 111 Somerset after their revamp and enjoyed trying the new menu. The strawberry matcha was nicely balanced with real strawberry pulp, while the lemonade matcha was refreshing and tangy with a nutty matcha finish. The matcha mochi harmony was the highlight with warm mochi, smooth gelato, and layered textures from kuromitsu and osmanthus. The space feels brighter and more youthful, though we still miss the calm zen vibe and glassware.

Genmaicha, Matcha Latte, and Matcha Mochi Harmony
.
A unique japanese style matcha cafe with traditional but limited japanese style floor seating.
Genmaicha is awesome and having a balanced nutty flavour while matcha latte gives a subtle matcha after taste.
Mochi is great and little bit ‘liquid’ while the mochi cubes gives more texture. Love the honey mochi cubes compare to the kuromitsu mochi cubes. But sadly the matcha gelato leaves a little bit sting of sweetness.

I ordered the iced matcha hojicha latte and e strawberry matcha latte— perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with that deep, slightly grassy flavor real matcha fans crave.
The staff clearly know their craft and take time to explain the origins of their matcha and how it’s prepared. Plus, the minimalist decor — pale wood, stone textures, and soft lighting — makes it the perfect place to unwind or get a little work done.
Whether you’re stopping by for a caffeine fix or a slow afternoon moment, this place feels like a mini trip to Kyoto. 🌸 Highly recommend!

We had tea and ice cream here with family and really enjoyed the cozy, calm atmosphere. Hvala offers a beautiful Japanese-style ambiance—great for relaxing and spending time together. The tea was fragrant and well-prepared, and the ice cream was delicious. A perfect place to unwind or catch up with friends and family. We’ll definitely be back!

Quite nice. Vibes are good, matcha also is nice. They have a lot of options. Fun place to both chill with friends and pull out your laptop and work. Only complaint is their seating, while aesthetic, can be uncomfortable to sit on at times.
Edit: The staff is friendly and customer service is good.

We ended up here while searching for the best matcha in the city. The concept is very cool: order and pay via the QR code at the table and a few minutes later you get your drinks. The Banana Pudding Matcha was very tasty. I will certainly return on my next layover in Singapore.

The black sesame cake was surprisingly good. Preferred the hojicha ice-cream over the (can't remember the name, some peach one), cuz it tasted like hand soap 😐 …

Stopped by to satisfy a matcha craving and tried the matcha hojicha latte, matcha mochi harmony, chaffogato, and waffles with three scoops of gelato which were chocolate, white chrysanthemum and shiro tea pear. The chrysanthemum stood out with its delicate floral notes, while the other two were less memorable. I still think the best pairing for the waffle is their no. 3 matcha 🍵

A cozy place to enjoy some matcha and cakes. It’s spacious with a contemporary Japanese feel. I had the iced hojicha matcha latte - I could barely taste the hojicha, they could have added more of it but it does have a strong matcha flavor. I also like their matcha coconut cake.

Stumbled upon this matcha speciality place whilst walking along Orchard Road and was pleasantly surprised. Matcha here is rich, fragrant and thick.
We tried the matcha petit which had a good texture and wasn’t too sweet. Matcha mochi harmony itself was nice but the water mochi was a miss for me. Otherwise, the dessert is good and healthy.
Place can get a bit warm during the afternoon. Big groups might have to wait longer to get a place to sit.
