The tailor I went to was closed, and this tailor was close by - they did a wonderful job at a great price in just two days. I will return here for all my future jobs without a doubt.

Charged over 30+ for zipper change, the workmanship is really sub par… they can’t even sew straight lines. The boss is very defensive. The stitchings are crooked. The closer you look the worse it gets. Keep your designer items away from this shop

I got a dress taken in from the waist area.
Firstly, noticed damage to the material which he kept on saying he didn't touch the area. Looked like the material was scraped.
When I put the dress on after the work, noticed the skirt area was off. I explained to him that the seams side of body needs to align from top to bottom as per origin to make it properly symmetrical. He kept on the work was only for the waist area it's not bottom. I told him that he's the tailor & need to advise properly. He didn't even try to figure out how to fix or improve, just completely dismissed it.
Such a horrible experience!
Worse of it, a friend had been recommending him to people.

Hing is my go to tailor for years. Although the pricing is more expensive, I was happy to pay more for the quality service and workmanship. Over the years business has evidently gotten better for them. However sadly the quality of workmanship starts deteriorating while prices have increased. My expensive and originally oversized dress now becomes uncomfortable to wear. Tried to gave feedback but Alan just brush it off and said that alteration was made accordance to measurement. This happened to both items I send for alteration. In the past Alan would have made it right to ensure customers satisfaction. Looks like I will need to start looking for alternative tailor.

Best tailor for the simplest and most complex alterations ! Alan understands the assignment always, and if he doesn’t he’ll make sure to clarify with you via WhatsApp message or call. I got an old dress “enlarged” and he did so seamlessly and subtly! Thanks so much , super recommend this shop.

Just got my extremely oversized wedding dress altered here, wasn’t in a rush so it took one month to be ready. There was a lot of work to be done as the whole upper part of the dress needed to be altered, I also wanted the tie back design to be removed and changed into a zip back. Some tailors advised not to because it was too much work but Alan agreed to change it for me.
Alan and his team was professional and sincere, their prices are competitive and service is great. He was very patient while I kept trying the dress to ensure it fits me. I’m very satisfied with the dress now! Thank you for making the wedding dress that I envisioned come true!

He helped reset and fix elbow patches on my husbands nice suit jackets. Impeccable details! Very fine work. I brought back more stuff for them to fix as well.

My mom and I have been altering clothes (and making dresses from scratch) for years and have tried many different tailors around Far East Plaza and Chinatown in search of a good one.
Based on so many rounds of trial and error, Alan and his team are really the best and we have been his repeat customers. (1) He takes the time to really listen and understand what we want and explore different solutions (conversing in Mandarin), instead of rushing and assuming like other tailors (2) The quality of work is really excellent, well thought through and consistent (3) If we want minor adjustments after, he is happy to cater, unlike other tailors who get defensive or flat out refuse.
He is getting really popular and we have had to wait a little longer to get our clothes done, so I hesitated to share this recommendation publicly. I suspect this is why he has few reviews online!

When I first started getting my alterations done at Hing Show, Alan and his people did do a good job, which was why he became my go-to tailor.
Subsequently, my latest several alterations have not been done well at all - a combination of poor workmanship and unprofessionalism.
In one of the alterations, Alan vetoed my instruction brusquely, to take an Issey dress in further at the waist.
Thinking he was the expert, I relented.
But after the alteration, it turned out that the waist needed to be taken in further and when I asked him to take it in further like I had initially requested, he got visibly upset and said he would charge me additionally…..
I did not mind his higher prices compared with the others in the vicinity, but service issues I do mind.
The irony of all this is that I was about to give him a good rating, but 3 alterations in a row with issues on workmanship and attitude has resulted in this review.
I will also not be returning to him again for any alterations.
There are many many other tailors at Far East.

Alan and his team did a fantastic job altering two dresses I sent in - from shortening the length to turning puffy sleeves into regular drape sleeves. Despite my shoddy mandarin, they understood what I wanted and delivered perfectly. Definitely recommend (:
