Food Republic at Shaw House represents one of Orchard Road's most vibrant dining destinations, bringing together over 20 food stalls under one roof. This expansive food atrium offers an impressive gastronomic journey across Asia, featuring everything from local Singaporean delicacies to authentic regional cuisines.
What makes this Food Republic outlet particularly appealing is its diverse culinary spread. Visitors can explore Japanese delights like salmon katsu bento, savor authentic Penang Lor Mee from the dedicated Penang Jiak area, or indulge in traditional zi char dishes. The food court format allows diners to sample multiple cuisines in a single visit, making it ideal for groups with different preferences.
Located at Basement 1 of Shaw House, the outlet is easily accessible from Orchard MRT Station and surrounded by shopping options. The bustling atmosphere reflects Singapore's hawker culture elevated to a modern, air-conditioned setting.
Ordered a large Hot Milo and end up given paper cup and was informed by auntie that is hot. Regulars can better treatments than walk in customer ordering drink. Use same spoon to stir behind regular customer's coffee and then stir my milo. I dont think is a good service at all and I am disappointed about it.and my 3 fingers burnt carrying this hot milo served a thin and soft paper cup.

I recently visited Food Republic at Shaw Centre and decided to try the Penang Hokkien prawn noodle paired with a cup of white coffee. Unfortunately, the meal turned out to be a letdown.
The prawn noodle was the biggest disappointment. A good Penang Hokkien mee usually greets you with a rich, aromatic broth layered with prawn sweetness and a hint of spice. What I received instead was a bowl of noodles in soup that tasted flat and bland, without the depth or seafood umami that makes this dish special. Even the garnishes couldnโt rescue it, leaving the experience underwhelming.
The white coffee was another misstep. Rather than being freshly brewed with the characteristic smooth, roasted fragrance, it was clearly made from an instant coffee sachet. It lacked both body and aroma, feeling more like a quick fix than a proper cafรฉ-style drink.
Given Food Republicโs reputation as a curated food court showcasing iconic dishes, I expected better standards. Shaw Centre is in a prime Orchard Road location, and visitors deserve authentic flavors, not shortcuts. Hopefully, management takes note and raises the quality to match the setting.

I had a bad experience in the mix rice stall (the 2nd stall at the entrance), the cashier attitude is super bad, i requested to use paynow to pay, but i couldn't find the QR code, she said I needed to click myself, do I know how use your system? Normally I use food republic app to pay but this stall do not take!! After that I ate a melted plastic in my mix vegetable, I can imagine the hygiene of this stall is very bad, even they cooked the plastic!! (they explained to me that this is garlic skin, obviously you can see that is melted plastic)

Gave 2 stars because I got scolded for nothing from this stall โLittle Hanoiโ. She just scolded me to get lost and get out. She was clearly Vietnamese, huge, very plump and sick for money over a pair of chopsticks which I asked if she had any first before I bought any food from her. She just said because I asked for chopsticks first before buying any food and walked into the kitchen yelling at me. This happened at around 5.45pm after I bought my Warung rice set, when I was told they ran out of bamboo chopsticks. So I went around to see what food I could buy so I can ask for chopsticks. I went to little Hanoi as I think I could buy the spring rolls and get the chopsticks. But this woman who clearly had a poor attitude with extremely bad English, just told me off without understanding what I was trying to say. I went off to the next mixed rice store who is tended by a non local too. She just stopped me from taking a pair of chopsticks that was out on the table. She just rudely said: โno chopsticksโ, must buy $3 of food first. The attitude was horrid. I took the chopsticks because she didnโt seem to understand what I asked and since it was out in the open; I thought I could just take one pair. All these cutlery are common ones. To be honest, I had another time at Jurong East food mall where they didnโt have chopsticks either; and they didnโt mind me taking cutlery.
I went back to Warung stall and I told her I got scolded. She then offered to take one pair of chopsticks for me. That was ok.
I hope your management could approach me for this together with seeing this barbaric service on your CCTV. This is in Orchard and they behave like they are in some back waters unfounded in a civilised world!
Otherwise this dinner would have been tasty.
I have bought their chicken noodles before at Little Hanoi and clearly she doesnโt recall me and has scolded me. So mercenary for money!
Attached recipe to prove I was there.
Eating was ok, Little Hanoi and the mixed rice stall beside it werenโt.
I suspect the management is their kind too. No reply still. The usual scenario for service now.

Beautiful Penang food nestled at the back of Food Republic at Lido Shaw! Had the chilli pan mee which is made in house, great tasty chilli and came with a soup with tangy meat balls. According to the lady boss, she has 8 bustling stalls in Penang, definitely authentic!

This is a colorful Food Republic food court located at the basement of Shaw house beside Isetan supermarket .
The place is decorated with nice traditional art paintings on the walls, adding to its charm. T
hereโs a wide variety of food choices, from local and Malaysian cuisine to international options.
The seating area is spacious, though do watch out for the steps around the dining space.
Prices are slightly higher than average, but itโs worth a visit when shopping in the vicinity.

Had the Penang Hokkien Mee and quite like it. Price is quite reasonable. Will try other dishes the next visit.

Tried the Lim Teh Corner at this hawker center for breakfast, ordered their kaya butter toast set.
The set come with 2 kaya butter toast, 2 half boiled egg and a cup of coffee or tea, i opt for kopi c.
Firstly compliment to their fast service, get the food ready for me in 2 minutes ๐๐๐
The coffee is good...3.5 out of 5 stars ๐
The toast is very thin (i noticed Singapore way of serving toast is usually thin sliced). Good amount of kaya and butter within. As to provide fast service especially to cater for office working people that always on rush, the owner prepared the toast earlier and this have sacrified the crispiness of the toast a little.
I like the half boiled egg the most. Perfectly half boiled and come with soya sauce and pepper powder in well individually packing. The soya sauce is of premium quality and went well with the eggs 5 out of 5 stars for this. ๐๐๐
Overall is a good breakfast.

This Food Republic has many stalls. I particularly like the Japanese Cuisine stall and the Ice Shop. I had a salmon and chicken katsu bento; the chicken katsu was very crispy. At $6.90, it was good value.
I also had chendol from the Ice Shop, and it was well prepared.
However, the soup and steamed pork patty at Steam Kitchen were far too salty for me. I could only finish the rice.
See the menus in my photos.
