I have been a loyal Ecco customer for years; until today. My nice Ecco shoes came crumbling down like a loaf of old bread on my walk to the MRT station this morning (see picture). These shoes were in excellent condition, last time I wore them. To be fair, that was pre-pandemic. They were in the storage since then until today. I understand natural wear & tear when I use should regularly. I don’t understand shoes falling apart when they’re unused. I have another, slightly older pair of nice shoes from a different brand that is still in a fine condition since I took them from the same storage last week. I can tell you: it feels quite embarrassing to go back home, walking on broken shoes like these; I took a taxi but still. No more Ecco for me!

Visited the ION outlet twice within half hour on Oct 6 2024.
The 2 staff there simply stood near the cashier counter and didn’t bother to help. When I asked whether there are walking shoes with flat and not slanted base, the reply was that ALL Ecco shoes are of slanted base. When I found some of flat base, and showed the staff, she was not even keen to offer her service. Gosh, they seem more like security guards making sure no shoes are stolen than sales staff. I gave up and walked out ending up buying from Isetan Shaw where the service is excellent. I own many pairs of Ecco shoes and know for sure that it is not true that ALL Ecco shoes are of slanted base!

🟥 Update = Just to inform the staff at Ecco Ion mall that I had actually gone to Raffles City's Ecco branch, and had bought a pair of black shoes; the same design as the ones in the photos.

✳️Was at Ecco store at Ion recently.
● Desmond, the sales staff, was very patient and polite when he served me. I tried on a few pairs, and he was understanding when I said some shoes were not of my liking.
➡️ The colour of the shoes I wanted was not in this Ion shop, so Desmond helped me to check the online inventory system of Ecco Singapore, and he said a black pair was available at the Raffles City branch.
☑️ So I went over there and bought that pair. Thank you for the service.

Ecco is a Danish footwear retailer selling both men’s and women’s shoes. My wife and I regularly buy our casual wear shoes from Ecco. They have a membership program that we’re part of. This store is located at B1 of Orchard Ion mall (near Orchard MRT). Prices are mid-range and the shoes have lasted us up to 2 years on average.

I have been going to this ECCO outlet for several years now but this is the first time I have been served by Elvan - the quality of his customer service prompted me to write this review. He was polite, cheerful, knowledgeable and FAST - he took less than 20 seconds to retrieve each pair of shoes from the storeroom.
Elvan also helped me with sizing and was able to explain the dual fit insole system, where some models have a second, very thin foam insole below the footbed that can be removed for a slightly looser fit, and then reinserted as and when the shoes stretch after a period of wear. A most excellent experience!
I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars because the store’s selection of brown shoes was somewhat limited. Of the four models I tried on, two didn’t have brown pairs available in my size, even though both colors were on display.
