Review of Culiang Yufen @ Far East Plaza I recently visited the Culiang Yufen outlet at Far East Plaza, tucked in a cozy corner of the air-conditioned food court. The space is fairly comfortable, though seating can be a bit limited and cramped. There are around seven to eight stalls in the area, offering a reasonable variety of food choices. Having tried Culiang Yufen at other outlets before, I was curious to see how this one compared. I ordered the Sauerkraut Sliced Fish Soup, which was on promotion and sounded just right for a mildly spicy craving. The broth turned out flavorful — a nice balance of spice and tang reminiscent of Sichuan-style soups. However, I was rather disappointed by the portion of fish. The bowl came with only a few thin slices, overshadowed by a generous heap of vegetables like enoki mushrooms and cabbage. For nearly $10, I felt the value wasn’t quite there. Overall, while the flavor was satisfying, the portion size and pricing left much to be desired.
