Took tap level 1 and beginner hip hop here. Just a newbie here but always an amazing session. Instructors are friendly and very helpful, really easy to pick up the dance moves.

Paid $45 for 5 sessions (student price). Took a popping basics class by Rachel 5 months ago at the TP branch. Was an absolute beginner and she was kind enough to take some time off the class to show me the moves and correct me. Would recommend for beginners that want to pick up dance!

I recently joined a Hip Hop Level 1 class at Converge Studio with Sabrina. It was my first time, but the studio was easy to find, just near Dhoby Ghaut MRT, thanks to their Instagram directions. The class was fun, with a spacious waiting area and mirrors. Despite being out of practice, the steps were easy to follow.

I have been attending classes here, and it has been great for workout. but not really for competitive dancing. also too many students in 1 class. pretty tiring to squeeze and express urself

Could the management please please purchase some air circulators in the classrooms? The rooms are always too warm especially the last class of the day 9.30pm always smells very bad 🫠 Love the instructors there they are passionate! Hope the management please take a look and fix the problem

I had my very first private dance class with Renee at Converge and it was such a great experience. She’s incredibly patient and took the time to break down each step clearly, which really helped me feel more confident. I also absolutely loved her energy – so warm, encouraging, and fun! Will be back!

Intimidating at first, thought level 1 was the basic class. It was so so scary, but the people and other dancers were all very supportive. I can see why dance is taking the world by storm. Yi Wen is one of the best instructors, her cues are so hilarious and that makes it memorable. It's accessible to all ages who wanna try dance

I have tried out two different open classes - K-Pop Basics (Daryl), Jazz Basics (Yee) and Hip Hop Basics. First of all, I love the location of this studio — it is super convenient and located within the Dhoby Ghaut MRT. There is also a wide selection of dance classes, which I look forward to trying in the future. For K-pop basics, the class focused quite extensively on choreography itself (rather than techniques), which may be challenging for absolute beginners. Some classes felt more challenging than others, so it can be a hit or miss for some, depending on your dance level. Due to the large number of students, the instructor filmed the students in batches at the end of the class, resulting in the class to overrun by about 15 minutes (which wasn’t a huge deal). For Jazz basics, the class focused more on techniques (how to breathe, how to jump and land properly, etc), leaving only about 10-15 minutes at the end of the class for choreography. So if you are a beginner, you may appreciate the amount of time spent on techniques, but may not 100% catch the choreography at the end. The warm-ups can be a little challenging and feel like a workout by themselves. I also must commend the patience and wit the instructor has to make the class so fun! He is extremely good at explaining the techniques as well as inserting very witty comments here and there to lighten up the mood. For Hip Hop Basics (the one on Wednesday evening), I thought that the class was quite poorly planned and executed. 15 minutes were spent on warm-up, which was challenging for those who are inflexible, and ironically, much harder than the actual remainder of the dance class. The remaining class was spent learning down bounce and up bounce, and the instructor made everyone repeatedly jump and bounce whilst walking around and checking everyone's forms, which I found quite excessive. I also do not get the point of being overly strict and anal about the form when there were barely any choreos, or even party moves, taught. It was quite uncomfortable to have the instructor walk around and comment on your form whilst repeatedly doing the same moves for 45 minutes. The class overran in the end. This was the least enjoyable class I had out of the other Basics classes. Perhaps this class will appeal to someone with absolutely no dance background, but with a moderate fitness level. However, similar to some of the other reviews, the crowd management for the classes at this studio is very poor. You do not need to sign in with the counter before class to confirm your attendance (compared to other studios), and you can book the class right up to the last minute. The studio for all the classes we attended was quite crowded, so you will barely have much space for yourself. I also think my friend accidentally hit someone behind when she was practicing the dance moves (whoops!).

I would give the teachers at Converge 10 stars, but after sampling other dance classes in Singapore, it's clear that Converge prioritizes profits over anything else because most classes are way too crowded. However, most alarmingly, I find some classes to be quite cliquey with disrespectful students. I have been dancing since I was a child and I've never encountered anything like I've seen at Converge. Some students (usually the older ladies) would go super early, chope a bunch of spots for their friends, and even ask other students who are not in their friend group to move because that's "their friend's permanent spot." During class, they whisper a lot amongst themselves while pointing at the teacher, other students, etc. It's unacceptable. The fact that instructors don't do anything about this is also not ok. I've been to so many other studios in Singapore and frankly, Converge is one of the only few ones with this issue. There has to be policies in place to prevent these things from happening. I hope Converge will take strict action against these issues because it's just not a conducive environment to be in. Sadly, I will not be returning. If you're looking for a space to nurture your dance skills, there are far better studios to do that in Singapore.

I just tried my first lesson and to be honest it is horrible. The pace is super fast I got no idea what is happening. I brought the 10 class package but I am sure I won't be attending anymore classes. And yes, there is no refund. Buy 1 class before you commit to 10 classes.
