Cozy little stall tucked away in Orchard that gave true Japanese vibes. This izakaya fusion restaurant served very generous portions of delicious pasta and rice, and proved more than our money's worth. The staff were more than kind, especially the head japanese chef who continually engaged the guests over the bar. Thank you for showing such great hospitality, me and my friends will definitely come back here again! *For reference we got the curry rice, beef rice, mentaiko pasta and the chicken karage

Managed to book 2 seats on a Friday evening. We went for alar carte menu. Firstly the otoshi was a pleasant surprise for us. We had sashimi platter which unexpectedly include Chu toro and 7 different types of fishes ($55). Miso cod was ok. Kagoshima beef with caramelized potatoes was cooked to perfection($65). The yuzu ice cream was refreshing and perfect to end the meal for the evening too. Portion for each dish was worth every penny 👍

Good omakase place in town! If you are finding Japanese fusion style, but yet delicious, good quality sashimi and beef, also 2 hr free flow alc drinks in variety selections. This is the place! Recommend to have reservation and book at the counter area for live cooking.

Came for lunch. There’s a short queue 10 minutes before opening. Friendly service. Well priced. Generous portion, more than what one might perceive from photos. Free flow cabbage salad, miso soup and green tea, which is appreciated. Atmosphere wise, I felt like I was transported back to Japan. I had bara chirashi, which is my usual favourite. Could have been 5/5 but I prefer if the sashimi wasn’t marinated in soy sauce. I would still come again.

A very solid place to get authentic Japanese food. We went for lunch on a Wednesday and there was a queue before opening. The food was great value at a reasonable price, with the Bara Chiraishi don ($18) being full of fish, although it's all covered in some marinate sauce so the raw fish taste isn't too pronounced. Every lunch set comes with free-flow miso soup, cabbage and green tea as well. One HUGE gripe I had was that the rice used, wasn't sushi rice, but felt more like normal rice. So it lacked the sticky factor and the sushi vinegar taste. Quite disappointing on this front and I really hope they will change the choice of rice used. Otherwise, everything was outstanding. The ambience was great too. Everyone sits side by side around the counter, where you can watch the chef at work. If you've never been to a Japanese izakaya, you can experience it right here. Overall I will certainly return but I really hope the rice situation changes for the better.

[ORCHARD, SINGAPORE] Hidden within a cosy side of Orchard Plaza where many izakayas are located at, lies @bistrodulepin where you will experience an explosion of french-japanese fusion flavours created by a Japanese chef. We had their Omakase Course ($100 per pax) and long story short, the cook here is insanely good and you really need to judge just that. Coming in, you will be greeted by a rather rustic vibe, with a single server rushing everywhere to fulfil orders and a seemingly nonchalant chef. Once you open up, you will come to realise that they are really friendly! There were about 8 courses in total, and we were increasingly impressed with each dish served. Don't be fooled by the plain saltine crackers served at the start; the other appetisers were so darn good, especially the chicken pate 🐔. All sashimi 🐟 served were extremely fresh, and the garlic miso sauce on the Sliced Yellowtail was amazing. Full of umami, I wish I had rice to mop them all up. As for cooked dishes, the Miso Cod 🐟 was incredible, so flaky, so fresh and they gave such a chunky piece. When you think things can't get any better, the Kagoshima Beef 🍖 topped the charts. Meaty, beefy, juicy and tender, nothing beats having this with just wasabi. As there aren't many carbs, do expect to be about 70-80% full. I was thankful that the chef gave me more than one scoop of their delicious ice cream & sorbet! (don't think they offer this all the time, so I wouldn't bet on it) Overall, the food & quality of the dishes is absolutely lovely and I will definitely come back again. I do see people complaining on Google about the service and how the server is doubling up as the line cook, but I feel like they are trying their best with the manpower crunch they are having. I feel like only a certain group of people who appreciate this will come back, no wonder why 70% of customers that night were regulars 😁

Reservation is required as seating is very limited. There’s one unit on the ground floor and another on the 2nd floor so make sure you know where you are suppose to go. We had the omakase and there was a lot of food and everything was really flavorful. Dishes take a while to be ready as there’s only one lady preparing all the food. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This restaurant truly transported me back to Japan! From the entrance to being seated, every detail of the experience was superb. The food was outstanding — the chef single-handedly prepared meals for all 12 guests with impressive skill. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout. We were welcomed with wasabi cream cheese, chicken liver pâté, and crackers — absolutely delicious! Every dish we ordered was incredibly flavorful and worth savoring down to the last bite.
