Japanese chef runs the whole restaurant with 1-2 staff, but he is very efficient and many Japanese also patronise the restaurant. The ala carte dinner was reasonable without alcohol it was $140 for 2.
The starters are crackers with cream cheese and liver which was complimentary, we had the sushi platter which was really good, the otoro was really fatty! Waitress recommended the scallops and uni and ikura with a cream sauce which paired well. The uni ikura pasta was also recommended and was Al dente and tasted like a Japanese pasta. The yellow tail collar bone was BBQ well! The sorbet is also complimentary at the end.

Love this place. Portions are good and very reasonably priced. Free flow salad, green tea, water and fish soup (watch for bones!). No service charge or GST. Prices are nett. Place is small so may need to queue for a while.

Value for money experience that highlights the chef's skills. Not the fanciest place in the world, but that was part of the experience. A very fun and enjoyable time. Great food and extremely well cooked.

found this place by accident and honestly i didnt regret it at all. had their omakase for like $120? insane value. got kinda lost because they have 2 stores on the first and second level oops (omakase is on the second)
started off kinda unexpected with biscuits, then moved into a sashimi platter which tastes super fresh and comparable to omakases in the 2xx-3xx range. their unagi was a standout too (unexpectedly paired well with the spinach sauce). had oyster and king crab salad as well and just when you thought it couldn't get richer, they bought out wagyu which was quite fatty but it still melted in my mouth
the chef even asked if we had space for more and whipped up some seriously good fried rice AND oden. so comforting, but man, i was genuinely at max capacity by then. had to skip the ice cream cos i rly had no room…😭
the pacing was spot on and i never felt rushed, but also no awkward long waits. for the sheer amount and quality of what we got, it was a ABSOLUTE STEAL. im def hitting this place up again to try their lunch and ala carte menu. i'd recommend if you want a unique japanese tasting experience beyond just sushi alone :)
