313@somerset You Won't Believe It's Trash Exhibition with Plus$ Rewards
The "You Won't Believe It's Trash" exhibition at 313@somerset showcases 10 standout creations by Temasek Polytechnic students, demonstrating how discarded materials can be reimagined into innovative and commercially viable products. The exhibition runs from 24 to 30 August 2026 at the L1 Atrium, open daily from 12pm to 9pm with a break from 4pm to 5pm and last collection at 8.45pm. Visitors can earn Plus$ by recycling plastic bottles and aluminium cans at 200 Plus$ per unit, paper at 1,000 Plus$ per kilogram with subsequent 100g earning 100 Plus$, and textiles at 2,000 Plus$ per kilogram.
Repurposed Denim Tote Bag
Among the student creations on display is a DIY denim patchwork tote bag made from repurposed jeans. The piece exemplifies the exhibition's "You make" theme, showing how everyday discarded textiles can be transformed into functional, reusable items.
Plastic Bottle Recycling
Empty plastic bottles are one of the recyclable materials accepted at the L1 Atrium collection point. Each bottle deposited earns 200 Plus$, encouraging shoppers to divert plastic waste from landfills while earning rewards.
Upcycled Butterfly LED Candle Holder
Another featured creation is a butterfly-patterned LED candle holder, glowing with cutout butterfly silhouettes on a frosted glass cylinder with a metallic base. The decorative piece demonstrates how discarded materials can be repurposed into commercially viable home decor items.
Aluminium Can Recycling
Empty aluminium cans earn 200 Plus$ per unit at the L1 Atrium collection point. Terms and conditions apply for all recycling rewards at the exhibition.
