Takashimaya Plants 50 Trees Along Braddell Road Through Carrier Bag Charge Proceeds
Takashimaya Department Store has planted 50 trees along Braddell Road, funded by proceeds from its carrier bag charge. The tree planting activity was carried out in partnership with the National Parks Board's OneMillionTrees movement, as part of the store's commitment to reducing plastic waste.
The initiative encourages shoppers to bring their own bags when visiting the store. Money collected from the carrier bag charge goes towards environmental efforts such as this greening project.
Tree Planting Along Braddell Road
Volunteers took part in planting and watering the young trees along the roadside greenery at Braddell Road. The activity forms part of Singapore's national tree-planting drive under the OneMillionTrees movement, which carries the hashtag #OneMillionTreesSG.
