VETERINARY NURSE / TECHNICIAN

Job Description

• Conduct diagnostic tests, laboratory procedures, and radiographic imaging (X-rays) as required

• Prepare animals, surgical instruments, and treatment areas for surgical and medical procedures

• Administer medications, vaccinations, anaesthesia, and treatments under the supervision of a Veterinarian

• Provide emergency first aid, inpatient nursing care, and post-operative monitoring

• Observe, assess, and accurately report on animals’ behaviour, vital signs, and clinical condition

• Safely restrain animals for examination, treatment, and diagnostic procedures

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and medical procedures

• Collect, document, and maintain accurate animal case histories and medical records

• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, hygiene standards, and workplace safety procedures

Job Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Veterinary Medicine

• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a veterinary clinic, hospital, or related animal care setting

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

• Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and ethical conduct

• Demonstrates a caring, calm, and positive disposition when handling animals and interacting with colleagues or clients

• Maintains strict confidentiality of medical records and client information

• Committed to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with veterinary best practices

• Open-minded, adaptable, and willing to learn new techniques and protocols

• Able to prioritise work based on clinical urgency, presenting cases, and emergency situations.

• Willing to work flexible hours when required to meet operational and emergency care needs
