We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER to join our academic team. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality education, differentiating instruction to support diverse learners, and working collaboratively with staff to enhance student outcomes.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct small group teaching in an inclusive setting for students with learning difficulties
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with learning difficulties, including the ability to deliver targeted instruction in literacy, numeracy, and other core academic areas.
- Able to adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Develop and implement an individualized Education Plan (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs, in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' performance, including IEP documentation.
- Work closely with support staff, and other specialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
- You may be assigned a mix of both teaching and lead one or more CCA activities per week depending on the needs of the school.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field from an accredited university.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties, delivering targeted instruction in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
- International Primary Curriculum (IPC) experience/ British Curriculum experience preferred.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in classroom and behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
