Job Overview

We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Manager / Manager to lead the bill adjustment and patient billing operations within Patient Financial Services. This role oversees billing accuracy, service recovery, and customer liaison teams handling counter and email enquiries, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Adjustment Operations

  • Lead the end-to-end bill adjustment process, including review of cases, validation of supporting documents, correction of billing discrepancies, and system updates.

  • Ensure billing accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and governance standards.

  • Review complex and high-risk billing cases and provide final approval where required.

People & Operations Management

  • Manage, coach, and guide Customer Liaison Officers handling walk-in and email enquiries.

  • Ensure responses meet established service standards and turnaround times.

  • Handle escalated patient billing concerns and provide prompt, effective resolution.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and recurring issues; drive process improvements and standardisation.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (clinical departments, finance, IT, operations) to ensure alignment with billing policies and SLAs.

  • Support audits, reporting, and compliance activities related to patient billing.

Patient Experience & Service Excellence

  • Ensure patient-centric service delivery while balancing policy, governance, and financial accuracy.

  • Enhance patient satisfaction through clear communication, service recovery, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Have relevant experience in patient financial services, billing operations, PSA / patient service operations, or healthcare administration.

  • Prior experience managing billing adjustments, patient accounts, or service recovery is essential.

  • Proven people management and stakeholder engagement experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
