Senior Lab Engineer (Office Hours / 5 Days) #HJG

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and execute laboratory experiments, tests, and small-scale investigations
• Lead small-scale studies, data gathering, and process improvement investigations
• Design, plan, and execute small-scale experiments according to project timelines
• Define and align requirements for complex laboratory experiments in accordance with internal guidelines
• Plan laboratory resources and coordinate with cross-functional teams to support experimental needs
• Troubleshoot issues during experimental runs and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve technical problems
• Support and guide Process Sciences engineers during experiment execution
• Coach and train junior engineers in laboratory techniques and experiment execution
• Support analytical activities related to small-scale experiments and coordinate testing support
• Create, review, and align laboratory documentation such as procedures, forms, protocols, and reports
• Analyse and summarize laboratory results, and review and approve laboratory reports
• Perform laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
• Lead implementation of new technologies and laboratory equipment for small-scale model development
• Support 5S/6S and housekeeping activities within the laboratory
• Ensure consumables and raw materials are ordered, stocked, and available for experiments
• Participate in global laboratory network discussions and support site implementation of laboratory initiatives
• Support EHS walkdowns and ensure timely closure of audit actions
• Adhere to applicable EHS requirements and laboratory quality standards
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, or related field with minimum 6 years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with cell culture, upstream processes, and/or downstream purification in a small-scale laboratory setting
• Experience in scale-down implementation, design of experiments (DOE), and laboratory process troubleshooting
• Prior experience in process development is an advantage
• Strong technical knowledge of analytical and cell culture/purification laboratory equipment
• Ability to guide and train junior engineers in laboratory operations
• Healthcare/biopharmaceutical industry interest and background
• Able to start work immediately
