Senior / Horticulture Officer

Responsibilities:

• To carry out daily inspection and supervision of landscape areas, including trees, turf, shrubs, and planting beds.
• To issue job instructions and work orders for all landscape maintenance and improvement works.
• To monitor and ensure that contractors’ maintenance works are carried out in accordance with specifications, schedules, and safety requirements.
• To conduct routine tree inspections and report hazardous, unhealthy, or damaged trees for follow-up action.
• To assist in the implementation of tree pruning, treatment, removal, and replacement works as directed by the Horticulture Manager.
• To ensure that landscape works comply with Town Council standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• To handle and attend to residents’ feedback and complaints related to greenery matters, and to report findings accordingly.
• To certify the completion of jobs undertaken by contractors and make recommendations for payment.
• To apply for and obtain all necessary approvals, licences, and certificates from the relevant authorities when required.
• To act on behalf of the Town Council in enforcing existing warranties, where necessary, in respect of building components provided by contractors to the Town Council.
• To maintain proper records and reports, including inspection logs, work progress reports, and defect lists.

Requirements:

• Approved diploma in horticulture and landscape management or its approved equivalent with at least two (2) years' relevant experience
