Job Description

Overall Job Objectives:

Join STPI, one of Singapore’s leading contemporary art institutions, and play a vital role in strengthening the foundations that enable creativity to thrive.

As part of the Corporate Service team, we are looking for a motivated and driven individual to work closely with the Senior Manager, Planning & Governance and assist with upholding strong corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain frontline exposure to how an arts institution operates at a national and strategic level. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of creativity, policy and strategy: supporting Board and governance processes, learn how organisational risks are identified and managed, and develop in-demand transferable skills in governance and planning while contributing directly to the sustainability and accountability of a key institution in Singapore’s arts ecosystem.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Governance & Risk Management

  • Assist in maintaining and updating governance policies, registers, and documentation (e.g. conflict of interest, related party transactions, data protection).
  • Assist in preparing and submitting governance and compliance reports to key stakeholders (e.g. Board, MCCY, Charities Unit).
  • Support the monitoring and updating of the organisational risk register and related reports.
  • Assist in coordinating departmental inputs for risk assessments and follow-up actions.
  • Help maintain the organisation’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) documentation and ensure the BCP aligns with STPI’s governance framework, and updates are communicated across departments.

2. Corporate Policy & Process Support

  • Assist in reviewing and updating internal policies. Conduct basic research and benchmarking to support governance or policy enhancement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for audits, compliance checks, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with documentation, filing, and information management for governance and compliance functions.
  • Prepare data inputs, charts, or summary reports for management and Board reporting.
  • Undertake other tasks or projects as assigned by Senior Manager (Planning & Governance) or Director (Corporate Services).

3. Strategic Planning

  • Track implementation of identified strategies, corporate KRIs and KPIs, and assist with timely reporting.
  • Keep abreast of sectoral and national developments to ensure STPI’s strategies remain relevant.
  • Support annual and mid-term planning processes, corporate reporting, and any Board secretariat matter as required.

Job Specifications:

1. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Management, Business Administration, Accountancy, or related disciplines.
  • Membership of a recognized professional body of accountancy / governance related body will be an advantage.
  • 1 – 3 years of relevant experience in governance, compliance, audit, or risk management roles with, ideally in the public, non-profit, or arts sector.
  • Professional certification or coursework in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Data Protection, or Internal Audit are advantageous, but not essential.
  • Fresh graduates with strong analytical and organisational skills are encouraged to apply.

2. Skills and Attributes:

  • Keen interest in understanding how governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, risk management principles and strategy shape the success of an arts organisation. Basic familiarity with governance, compliance, or public-sector processes is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Ability to interpret policies, regulations, and codes of practice, and translate them into operational processes.
  • Clear and confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and comfortable with collaborative digital tools (SharePoint, MS Teams etc.)
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work both independently and in a team.
