Job Description

The Onsite IT Support Technician at NIEC is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and management of IT assets to ensure the smooth operation of onsite IT systems. This role involves configuring and maintaining laptops, managing physical IT assets, handling onsite technical issues, and documenting IT operations procedures. The technician will also be involved in system administration activities, including managing Active Directory, troubleshooting incidents, and applying system patches. Additionally, the technician will oversee laptop tech refresh projects and maintain accurate inventory records.

Job Responsibilities

  • To provide support, troubleshoot and resolve IT problems encountered by users: network, laptops, applications, printers, hardware and other services as necessary.

  • To assist in installation and configuration of gadgets for end users.

  • To ensure that the organisation's physical security and computer security measures are enforced.

  • To manage and regularly update physical IT assets to ensure accuracy and optimal utilization.

  • To maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and IT operations guides.

  • To coordinate with external vendors and escalate issues to higher support levels when necessary to ensure timely resolution.

  • To perform other IT-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or related.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in IT support, or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 Office Suite and M365 Cloud Management (EndPoint  Manager, Azure Active Directory, etc)

  • Possess experience in configuring and managing laptops and other end-user devices.

  • Familiarity with IT asset management practices and inventory tracking systems. Good analytical, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Possess experience in automation and scripting tools, such as UiPath, Python, Microsoft Power Automate, and Power Apps, to streamline IT operations and improve efficiency. (Advantageous)

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possess knowledge of government procurement policies, data security, and privacy regulations.

Note: All new hires will be offered a two-year contract in the first instance. Contract renewal and emplacement on permanent appointment will be subject to continuous good performance.
