Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & ETL: Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources into our client's core systems. Ensure SQL databases are optimized and reliable.
- Actionable Intelligence: Transform raw market data into high-value research insights and intelligence reports to support the client team’s strategic goals.
- Commercial Enablement: Provide real-time operational support to the brokerage and commercial desks, offering data-backed confidence during contract negotiations and "fixing" processes.
- Forecasting & Trends: Build and maintain sophisticated models to forecast market volumes and identify emerging trends.
- Reporting Excellence: Manage the delivery of daily/weekly reports and interactive dashboards, ensuring 100% data integrity and relevance to current market conditions.
- Stakeholder Briefings: Support the client team by preparing presentation materials and delivering clear, concise market updates to external partners.
What Our Client is Looking For
- Coding Advantage: Basic knowledge of Python or other programming languages is highly advantageous.
- Analytical Depth: A proven ability to process information independently and provide a "big picture" view of the market.
- Communication: A customer-oriented professional who is articulate and comfortable presenting findings to a sophisticated audience.
- Industry Preference: * Direct experience in shipping or shipbrokering will be a significant added advantage.
- Familiarity with international trade and commodities is a strong plus.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Maritime or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and languages such as Python, R, or SQL will be advantageous
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. will be advantageous
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience in the maritime industry is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on multiple projects.
