Regulatory & Toxicology Manager – Chemical / Personal Health Consumer Products | Up to $12,000/month | 5 Days | Northeast
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory & Toxicology professional to lead our regulatory function, ensuring global compliance for chemical manufacturing and consumer products. This role combines scientific evaluation, hazard assessment, team leadership, and stakeholder management, with occasional travel to support cross-functional and global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a small team of regulatory/toxicology professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance oversight
Evaluate eco-toxicology, animal, and human health toxicity data to support regulatory decision-making
Prepare and maintain regulatory dossiers, hazard assessments, and compliance documentation
Apply QSAR, read-across, and weight-of-evidence methodologies to address data gaps
Ensure accurate hazard classification, labeling, and SDS updates (GHS/CLP, OSHA)
Maintain compliance with chemical inventories, notifications, and regulatory submissions globally
Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and external stakeholders to integrate regulatory and toxicology considerations across product lifecycles
Advise on regulatory feasibility during new product development and product modifications
Lead internal training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives in regulatory and product safety
Represent the organization with external regulatory authorities, industry associations, and partners
Occasional travel to regional/global sites to support regulatory inspections, audits, and stakeholder engagements
Requirements:
PhD or Master’s in Toxicology, Regulatory Science, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Environmental Science, or related field
8–10 years of experience in regulatory toxicology, chemical, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries
Proven experience managing a small team and mentoring staff
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate regulatory requirements effectively across multiple functions
Hands-on experience with eco-toxicology, animal toxicity, and human health assessments
Proficient in QSAR modeling, read-across, and weight-of-evidence approaches
Knowledge of global chemical regulations: REACH, TSCA, K-REACH, IECSC, etc.
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and provide strategic scientific guidance
Salary & Benefits:
Up to $12,000/month, depending on experience
Office-based, Monday to Friday
