Job Description
Job Purpose
● Oversee youth programme of Singapore Red Cross Youth (RCY). This includes development, recruitment, retention and recognition of RCY members and volunteers.
Ensuring sufficient volunteer resources to assist in the delivery of the RCY’s programme.
● Establish partnerships with schools, community organizations, and government agencies to expand the reach and impact of youth programs.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership
● Work with his/her reporting officer to develop and maintain quality youth programmes
● Evaluate how well RCY’s goals and objective have been met
● Plan budget and monitor
● Maintain and utilize a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the youth sector
● Represent RCY to internal and external stakeholders
● Work with his/her reporting officer to plan staff & volunteer development
● Ensure that SRC’s Data Protection protocols/guidelines including personal data protection are being adhered.
People Management
● Develop employees and volunteer' level of competence to ensure that they remain continually relevant in meeting individual, departmental and organisational goals. Where necessary, coach them to achieve the highest standard possible; align individual talents and passion to organisational needs for the achievement of effective operations
● Ensure effective and efficient engagement of youth members and leaders
● Ensure stakeholder engagement and volunteer management
Operation Management
● To oversee the different programmes under Youth Development (YD) including but not limited to Uniform Groups (UG), Chapters, Youth @ Community (Y@C), Red Cross Juniors Programme
● Define and direct programmes to strengthen youth membership and RCY’s volunteer resources
● Review training and development initiatives for YD programmes
● Collaborate with the respective departments to achieve RCY programming’s objective
Management Control
● Oversees the use and upkeep the Red Cross Youth Information and Learning Management System to manage membership and activities of RCY
● Proper management of department budget, including the funds and grants available to YD
● Manage campsite facility
Stakeholders Management
● Develop long-term partnerships/collaboration with community, government and non-government agencies, youth and corporate organisations to enhance programmes to meet the needs of the RCY’s programmes and activities.
Job Specifications
Qualifications and Experience
● Possess a recognised university degree preferably in the field of youth development or education or social services;
● At least 5 years of relevant experience in the youth development or education sector or social services.
Additional Skills and Knowledge
● Effective presentation and report writing ability, with high analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to people at all levels.
Desired Behavior
● Self-starter with good communication skills (written and verbal).
