Fund Operations Specialist (Buy-Side | Multi-Functional) – Immediate Hire

Our client is a Singapore-based investment management firm focused on APAC equities, with a strong emphasis on Japanese markets. The firm adopts a fundamental investment approach and manages a diversified, high-volume portfolio across multiple sectors.

As part of their lean and high-performing setup, they are seeking a Fund Operations Specialist who is comfortable operating across multiple functions, including fund operations, trade support, and basic compliance responsibilities.

Job Description

This is a hands-on, multi-functional role within a buy-side environment. You will work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day fund operations while supporting compliance and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable “wearing multiple hats” in a fast-paced investment setting.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Operations & NAV

• Perform daily and monthly NAV calculations, validation, and reconciliation
• Conduct P&L analysis and investigate variances
• Calculate management/performance fees and oversee expense allocations
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Trade Operations & Middle Office

• Monitor trade lifecycle including booking, settlement, and reconciliation
• Reconcile trades, positions, and cash balances with Prime Brokers
• Support corporate actions, income processing, and FX reconciliation
• Work closely with traders on execution-related operational matters

Investor & Fund Administration

• Liaise with fund administrators and transfer agents on subscriptions/redemptions
• Support investor reporting and capital account reconciliations
• Assist with fund flows, capital activity, and reporting requirements

Compliance & Regulatory Support (Hybrid Scope)

• Support compliance monitoring in line with MAS regulations (SFA / AML)
• Assist in regulatory filings, audit preparation, and documentation
• Review fund-related documents and ensure proper record-keeping
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties on compliance matters

Stakeholder & Process Management

• Work closely with Prime Brokers, custodians, and external vendors
• Coordinate with auditors and support audit processes
• Identify inefficiencies and improve operational workflows
• Support ad hoc projects and broader business initiatives

Key Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in hedge fund operations, fund accounting, or buy-side environments

• Strong understanding of:

• NAV calculations
• Trade & cash reconciliation
• Fund flows and capital activity

• Prior exposure to Prime Brokers, fund administrators, and custodians

• Comfortable working across multiple functions (operations + basic compliance) in a lean team environment

• Proactive and adaptable mindset — able to take ownership beyond defined scope

• Meticulous, detail-oriented, and strong analytical thinking

• Familiarity with equities markets (Japan or APAC exposure is a plus)

• Proficiency in Excel is required; Bloomberg exposure is advantageous

• Experience with OMS/PMS platforms (e.g. Enfusion) is a strong advantage

• Candidates who are available immediately or within short notice (≤2 weeks) will be prioritised
