Fund Operations & Compliance Specialist (Buy-Side) – Immediate Hire

Our client is a Singapore-based investment management firm focused on APAC equities, managing a diversified and high-volume portfolio across multiple sectors. Operating within a lean and high-performing team, they are seeking a hands-on individual to support both fund operations and compliance functions.

This role is ideal for candidates with operations or middle-office experience who are open to expanding into compliance responsibilities within a buy-side environment. Immediate or short notice candidates will be prioritised.

Job Description

This is a hybrid role combining fund operations and compliance support within a fast-paced investment environment. You will work closely with the investment team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while supporting regulatory and risk-related processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable taking on multiple responsibilities in a lean team setup.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Operations & Trade Support (Core Focus)

• Support daily reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash balances
• Assist with trade lifecycle processes, including booking, settlement, and reporting
• Work closely with fund administrators, custodians, and Prime Brokers on operational matters
• Support NAV-related processes, fund flows, and reporting requirements

Risk Monitoring & Controls

• Monitor portfolio positions against internal limits (e.g. exposure, concentration, short positions)
• Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies in daily operations
• Support internal controls and ensure proper documentation of processes

Compliance & Regulatory Support

• Assist in ensuring compliance with MAS regulations (SFA /AML / internal policies)
• Support onboarding processes, including basic KYC and due diligence checks
• Maintain proper documentation and records in line with regulatory requirements
• Assist with regulatory reporting, audits, and internal reviews

Legal & Documentation Support

• Support review and handling of fund-related documentation and agreements
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers where required
• Ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and regulatory expectations

Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Support

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual processes
• Support ad hoc tasks across operations and compliance functions
• Contribute to a flexible, team-based environment where responsibilities may evolve

Key Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in either:

• Fund operations / fund accounting / middle office, or
• Compliance within financial services (e.g. MAS / AML / KYC)

• Experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Reconciliation (cash, trades, positions)
• Fund operations / NAV processes
• Compliance, onboarding, or regulatory support

• Prior exposure to asset management, hedge funds, fund administration, or financial institutions is advantageous

• Basic familiarity with MAS regulations (SFA / AML) or financial market operations will be beneficial

• Comfortable working in a hands-on, multi-functional role, with exposure across both operations and compliance

• Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership beyond defined scope

• Proficiency in Excel is required

• Candidates who are available immediately or within short notice (≤2 weeks) will be prioritised
