Job Description
We are a 115-room hotel in Singapore seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Director of Finance / Finance Manager to lead the hotel’s financial operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance, strengthening controls, and supporting the General Manager and ownership with sound financial insights.
The title and remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the full set of accounts, monthly closing, and timely financial reporting
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections
- Analyse financial performance, variances, and key KPIs; provide actionable insights to management
- Ensure compliance with Singapore accounting standards, tax, GST, and statutory requirements
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and corporate stakeholders
Cost Control & Procurement Oversight
- Oversee procurement policies, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- Monitor operating costs, CAPEX, and inventory to ensure cost efficiency
- Work closely with department heads to enforce budget discipline
IT & Systems Oversight
- Oversee hotel finance and operational systems (PMS, accounting, procurement systems)
- Act as key liaison with external IT and systems vendors
- Drive process improvements and system optimisation (finance-related)
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead and develop the finance team (where applicable)
- Partner the GM and department heads as a trusted financial advisor
- Support management decision-making with strong commercial and financial analysis
- Strengthen internal controls and risk management across the hotel
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional qualification (CA / ACCA / CPA) highly preferred
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience; hospitality experience is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of hotel financial operations, cost control, and P&L management
- Hands-on, independent, and comfortable working in a single-property environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across operations
- Experience overseeing procurement and vendor contracts is preferred
