Cost Accountant - Retail MNC/North/S$6400

An established retail organisation is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to oversee costing and inventory functions across multi-channel operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring stock accuracy, margin optimisation, and effective inventory governance to support overall business profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage product costing, including landed cost, freight, markdowns, and promotional impacts.

• Monitor gross margin performance and analyse cost and margin variances.

• Oversee inventory accuracy across stores, warehouses, and consignment channels.

• Track aged, slow-moving, and obsolete stock, and support inventory optimisation initiatives.

• Lead stock counts, cycle counts, and annual inventory exercises.

• Investigate stock discrepancies, shrinkage, and write-offs.

• Prepare inventory, ageing, and margin reports for management.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and internal policies.

• Maintain and improve SOPs for inventory control and stock movement processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including retail, warehouse, merchandising, and finance.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related discipline.

• 4–6 years of experience in retail costing and inventory management.

• Strong understanding of retail inventory flows and costing structures.

• Hands-on experience with SAP or similar systems; advanced Excel skills preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
