Assistant Store Manager

Role Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager, you support the Store Manager in driving daily store performance, team engagement and operational excellence. You play a key hands-on leadership role on the shop floor, ensuring strong customer engagement, visual standards and smooth day-to-day operations.

This role is ideal for a motivated retail leader who enjoys being on the floor, coaching the team and delivering an energetic and fashion-forward customer experience in Singapore’s mall retail environment.

Areas of Responsibilities

Team Support & Leadership

·    Support the Store Manager in leading, motivating and developing the store team.

·    Assist with onboarding, training and day-to-day coaching of team members.

·    Lead by example on the shop floor, demonstrating strong service, selling and brand representation.

·    Help maintain a positive, inclusive and energetic team culture aligned with Subdued’s values.

Customer Experience

·    Deliver confident, friendly and engaging customer service aligned with Subdued’s youthful brand identity.

·    Actively engage customers through styling advice and product recommendations.

·    Handle customer feedback and basic service recovery professionally, escalating issues when required.

·    Support initiatives that encourage repeat visits and brand loyalty.

Sales & Performance Support

·    Support store sales target and KPIs through active floor leadership.

·    Assist in monitoring daily sales performance and executing action plans.

·    Motivate the team to achieve individual and store targets during peak trading periods.

Operations & Visual Standards

·    Support daily store operations including opening/ closing procedures, scheduling and cash handling.

·    Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained according to Subdued’s brand guidelines.

·    Assist with stock management, replenishment and stock-take activities.

·    Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and Singapore mall operating requirements.

Brand Representation

·    Represent Subdued professionally and confidently at all times.

·    Ensure the store environment reflects the brand’s fashion-forward and youthful identity.

·    Share ideas and feedback to improve store performance and customer experience.

What We’re Looking For

·   Minimum 2-3 years of retail experience, preferably in fashion retail

·   Previous experience as a Senior Sales Associate or Assistant Store Manager is an advantage.

·   Passion for fashion, styling and engaging young customers.

·   Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·   Energetic, hands-on and able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

·   Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required in Singapore mall retail.

·   Experience in the Singapore retail market is an advantage.
