ADJUNCT LECTURER – GAME DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

We are seeking a new colleague to join our MAGES ACADEMIC Team to teach Game Design and Development Courses. 

Candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of the game design process, from conceptualisation and planning to gameplay design and development. A strong understanding of project management methodologies and production processes within the game development industry is also required.

Knowledge / Experience in some of the following areas are also of benefit: 

Responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, equitable and comprehensive assessment of learning, accurate documentation of student progress, and support for the academic success of at-risk students.

• Be available to teach scheduled daytime classes

• Deliver assigned courses in accordance with institutional standards                                                                            

• Prepare and maintain high-quality course materials and lesson plans, with preparation tailored to course requirements and teaching experience

• Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved, standardized syllabus 

• Design engaging, relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes in real-world contexts

• Foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment that encourages student participation, engagement, and academic success

• Assess student performance and maintain accurate records, including grade books, assessments, and final evaluations, in a timely manner

• Respond to student questions on a timely basis

• Identify and refer at-risk students to specific academic support services

• Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.

• Act as a substitute as needed

• Attend graduation ceremonies each year

• Where applicable, ensure safety and sanitation of all labs, equipment and supplies                       

• Post and maintain office and classroom schedules         

• Participate in and provide feedback to institutional committees and reporting.

• Collaborate with the Programme Chair and relevant stakeholders on student retention initiatives

• Mentor new faculty members as needed

• Assist in program evaluation and planning                                    

• Attend regularly scheduled in-services and discipline specific professional development activities.
  

  Remuneration will be base on experience.
