[12-month contract role] Overheads Accountant (Singapore)

Overview
An established international trading & marketing entity is seeking an experienced Overheads Accountant for its Singapore office. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and supports group reporting, tax compliance and overheads management across global affiliates.

Key responsibilities

Maintain accounting records for general administration and overheads; post invoices and employee claims accurately and timely.
Apply and update cost allocation methodologies; allocate overheads to business segments/trading books.
Record, justify and follow up accruals and provisions; support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes.
Prepare intercompany recharge invoices/debit-credit notes and reconcile intercompany balances with affiliates.
Prepare tax computations, liaise with tax agents, and provide schedules for ECI and final tax filing.
Ensure correct GST and withholding tax treatment and prepare quarterly GST returns.
Prepare monthly full-set accounts, variance analysis, overhead budgets/forecasts and regular overhead reports.
Support internal/external audits and complete government surveys (DOS, Enterprise Singapore, MAS) on time.
Ensure accounting compliance with Global Trader Programme (GTP), IFRS/FRS, SOX and local regulations.
Communicate with Geneva, US and other affiliate finance teams; assist on ad hoc financial analyses and projects.

What you bring

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (or equivalent) and a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA).
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a full set of financial records.
Strong Excel and VBA skills; good knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Power Query).
Knowledge of SQL and Python is advantageous.
Detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and collaborate across functions.
Professional, confidential handling of sensitive financial information and a digital mindset.

Environment

Fast-paced role with peak activity at month/quarter/year end and during statutory audits.
Regular interaction with global affiliates (Geneva, US, Paris) and various local departments.
