Accountant

Job Description

• Handle and oversee the full set of accounts including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, and month-end / year-end closing.
• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Perform hands-on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and variance analysis.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Closely monitor and control project costs in collaboration with Project Managers, Procurement, Quantity Surveyors, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with audit, tax, GST, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Act as the key liaison with auditors, tax agents, banks, and external parties.
• Review and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job support to junior finance staff while remaining actively involved in daily accounting work.
• Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and operational projects as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent qualification
• Minimum 6–8 years of relevant accounting experience with strong hands-on exposure
• Proven ability to independently handle a full set of accounts end-to-end
• Prior experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries is an advantage
• Good working knowledge of audit, tax, and GST requirements
• Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure
